It wasn’t until I grew up did I realize this was my childhood too. But my mom did such a good job making do with what we’ve got, including sacrifice her meals and other things so I could have what I need. I never even realized we were poor until I grew up and swapped stories with my husband. Now I know why my mom hates vermicelli since it was the cheapest and most filling thing there is (back in Asia) and she ate nothing but that for years… moms really are amazing 😔😔

I do the same thing right before school starts. I also meal prep a bunch of meats with marinade (for the grill) and dump and go crock pot meals because grandparents have a huge pool and we spend most our afternoons there and into the evening so i like to toss something in the crock pot and have it be ready or just be able to thaw some meat and toss it on the grill with some vegetables and a salad for those pool days. It makes my life so much easier and i only have 3 kids but i spend about the same amount you do stocking up for the entire summer. I usually start meal prepping a month before school starts and i just make double of whatever i am cooking for the night. Then i spend a few hours just going to the store getting a bunch of different meats and make marinades with that. I also bulk cook taco meat and sloppy joes and bbq chicken and chicken tacos (taco seasoning & ranch seasoning). I buy weekly produce milk and bread. Its so nice bc you don't have to do "real" grocery shopping and i utilize pickup to grab the few things i need for every week and we're good to go. 😁

Do the children snack on fruits and vegetables?

How do you manage to keep the kids from getting into the snacks? Grocery hauls are my favorite! 🥰

By not putting limits on food. Putting limits on food will destroy a child's relationship with food.

@@TH-pn4nm she does do some limits. She talked about it before for Bree. It's more about learning balance though. So Bree loves those little muffin bites. So she allows her to have at least two bags a day but that's better than her eating the entire box, which she would do given the chance due to her past with food/addiction to sugar. Her addiction comes from being a baby and not being fed properly. However they don't have limit on fruits in the house, which is why she always buys so much.

@@LifeOfCandice no i know, I mean unhealthy limits. That's a limit to help her girl. Thank you so much for explaining though!

I love this video! I can’t wait to go fill my pantry for our boys for the summertime. You definitely did well, here in Canada that amount of food/items would’ve cost nearly double 😩

I always love watching your grocery haul videos because it makes me feel like I’m actually doing grocery shopping too. I always wish I can spend more for my grocery and buy all I need like you did but I can’t. So your haul videos actually gives me the satisfaction and kinda like a therapy I need (until I can actually make it a reality, gotta work hard for that💪🏻) Thank you Alicia!

You need a U-haul for shopping trips.

I’m not sure if it’s just peoples different ways in different countries but I don’t see why there’s a need for so many bottles of drink?! It’s using a lot of plastic
