You help heal my inner child. I didn't get treated well as a child and was always made to feel like a burden instead of a blessing. I think when I have kids and can treat them the way you treat yours, it will be very theraputic for me. Obviously not the reason I would have kids, but it would be a bonus.

I'm with Zoey on the vanilla oreos! I know its been said a thousand times but I personally want to thank you for recognizing and validating each child's food preferences. When my now 30 year old kiddo was about 8 we went to eat. He likes everything plain. Absolutely plain. So he ordered a plain burger, just meat and bun and fries. The waiter asked if he wanted cheese and he politely told him no thank you just meat and bun. So they bring his food and give him a bottle of ketchup for the fries. He again told the waiter very politely that he didn't want the ketchup. Waiter says every little boy likes ketchup. Kiddo says not this one. Dessert time comes around and you guessed it. Kiddo asks for a bowl of plain vanilla ice cream. Waiter tries to get him to get whipped cream. Kiddo says no thank you. Waiter says what about hot fudge. Kiddo says no thank you just plain ice cream. Waiter says how about sprinkles? My kiddo who has been nothing but patient and polite the whole evening lost it. He slammed his little hands on the table looks that waiter straight in the eyes and said, "Look Mister! What part of plain don't you understand??!!" Waiter was shocked and apologized. When he walked off my son thought he was going to be in trouble but I was kinda proud. Lol Turns out his pediatrician said he has the biggest taste buds she'd ever seen and that's why he was particular about his food. He tastes things that others don't. My point is I love your philosophy of food is comfort and fed is best. And when give your little pep talk at the end of your videos it really picks me up. YOU are amazing and I'm so proud of you.

So I started at the beginning of your uploads and have been watching them in order posted. I wanted to share something that happened or rather that I noticed/recognized today. I don't have any type of diagnoses or any mental health challenges. I'm just a regular ole wife, teacher, and mother of one. It's getting closer to school starting back, my daughter is about to move away to college for the first time in a month, and our hot water heater sprung a leak this week. I recognized that I was feeling stressed and anxious today. I even told my husband that I needed to get my mind on something else. I picked up my phone and watched this video. By the time it was over I could physically feel that my body had relaxed, and my mind was less anxious. Making these videos for people is not nothing. The amount of people that you guys help and touch is a significant thing. And you think you're just shopping... 🧡🧡🧡

Good tip, sure it’s been mentioned, you could put your brown sugar in the microwave for a few seconds until it loosens. Not until it melts, just nail it’s not a rock. Also, adding one of those bread heels in would help keep it fluffy. I know you guys have chickens, but they won’t miss one heel. You’re doing great. I admire you so much!

I felt the same. But as a mom of two kids , now I understand why. If I asked my kids what would they like to eat they would answer cereal for breakfast and mac and cheese for lunch, cookies for snack. I learned that in order to teach kids good eating habits I need to introduce them to healthy foods and cook healthy dinners for them.

Growing up in the 1960’s very few homes kept snack foods of today. You ate fruit, veg, a sandwich. I’m sure it was partly money but mostly those foods were not considered nutritious. They were special for holidays or birthdays. Once we were teens we were allowed to spend our own money on “junk” foods. Dessert was rare also. It was usually a pudding made with milk or jello (made with a beef broth). Basically, a serving of protein.

It may have been that your Mom was on a tight budget and knew she was only able to buy certain things. Out of paw patrol soup & he won't eat princess? Seriously? I mean, I'm sorry but that's spoiled rotten. Life isn't always that easy for people. Some would just be thankful to have a can of soup. Problem is that the government is giving so much to people who simply waste it on nonsense. If it would be used more cautiously, there would be more to give to others. Our seniors in America get nothing, while other people are being enabled to waste what they get.

I have a random question. Obviously with a family of 12 now 14 you have to buy more than one pack of things like the Gatorade Capri Suns some foods etc. so during the pandemic when they limited the amount of things you could buy like one pack toilet paper, one gallon of milk etc. what did you do? Did you have to go to a whole bunch of stores!? 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️♥️

I hear ya. We have septic. It’s a careful balance to not overload. My town is all private sewer. I’d completely opt in to town sewer if it was an option.

It’s ok to feel frustrated Alicia. I get it. Have you ever thought of getting help? A nanny that can help you from 8 To 5. Or someone that does your weekly grocery shopping?

Nooooooo! When brown sugar gets hard, put it in the microwave for a few seconds. Also store the brown sugar with a slice of bread to keep it soft. It works so well! I replace the slice of bread every few weeks or so (it doesn’t mold).

Funny story… Growing up it was my myself and 2 siblings. My mom had a special Tupperware for brown sugar. She wrote in permanent marker on the lid. “You like hard brown sugar. Then keep the lid off. You like fresh brown sugar keep the lid on.” Looking back at it was genius. We surely kept that lid on. :)
