Does anyone else think that Tonina is the one who snapped and killed her nephew. The mother who was starting to suffer from dementia, was convinced to take the blame to protect the golden child. Every interview that Tonina gives it’s all about her.

For me, when she suddenly started babbling about "ordering a pizza" while on the phone with 911? Whatever psychosis she has going on, she suddenly mixed up actual observable events (ie, "I got on the phone with 911...") with what was *going through her head* when on the phone with 911, but only halfway. To me, in that moment she's revealing a quick discussion she had with whoever (not her mom imho, but someone no one but her can see/hear :| ) told her "it sounds like you're ordering a pizza... turn shit up a bit maybe?", her reply being "I'm not ordering a pizza! I'm not... no, I'm" etc. Convince me otherwise. Please, cos that creeps me out.

Is it just me or is this the most obvious crime of a fussed over duaghter kills her nephew and then spends a few hours explaining to her mother ( who is very ill ) to take the blame . This is the reason the mum is pacing. This is the reason the mum says she doesnt want anything to do with the 911 call. This is the reason when talking to Vicky all the mum seems to worry about is how to set Tonita up with a place to stay . food and her sewing business. This is why the mum was so stunned, she knew she was giving up the rest of her life for Tonita. Thia is why Tonitas recalection of events change every time she speaks of what happened that awfull morning. This is why Tonita still to this day referes to her nephew as "THAT LITTLE BOY" This is why Tonita answered the 911 call as if ordering a pizza. The shock had worn off. Her Nephew died at arround 3am. This is why she walked by her nephew still in the bath to call 911. This is why she changes the subject when speaking to investigators. like fishing when she remarked " Could i have been sleepwalking " This is why it was a half hearted attempt at CPR. Tonita knew the nephew had been dead for at least 2-3 hours. No wonder the mother was pacing around shocked. I mean she kept telling Vicky she loved the kid and his mum will be so sad. I never ever heard Tonita mention that anyone else would be sad. upset thier kid had died....... It was the Tonita show. She knew her devoted mum would take the fall for her but her mum still showed compassion when talking to Vicky asking how the boys mum was and telling Vicky how much she loved the kid and how sorry she was this had happened... But the mum couldnt bring herself to tell Vicky her sister Tonita actually did this. And this is what kept Vicky confussed /Upset with her mums answers.. Watch this again with all these things in mind. IT IS SO BLATANT TONITA DROWNED HER NEPHEW AROUND 3am AND SPWNT A FEW HOURS CONVINCING HER MUM TO TAKE THE FALL. WITH HER MUM ALREADY BEING ILL SHE JUST STARTED PACING AND WORRYING ABOUT HER BELOVED DAUGHTER AND ALSO SHOCKED AT THE DEATH OF HER GRANDCHILD. THATS WHY SHE NEVER WANTED TO ACTUALLY TALK TO VICKY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED AT THE SPECIFIC TIME OF THE BOYS DEATH. TONITA KILLED THE CHILD AND GOT HER MUM ON BOARD TO TAKE THE FALL..POOR OLD ILL WOMAN. I THINK THE GRANDMOTHER IS PORTRAYED SO WRONGLY ON HERE. TONITA NEW SHE WAS ILL AND GOT HER CAUGHT UP IN DEFENDING HER TILL THE END.

Or a sociopath messed up on all sorts of antipsychotic meds convinced a woman who probably should have been in a mental institution herself that she was the one who did it. She convinced her mom that she snapped. My second theory is that they are both so severely mentally ill, so Tonina is actually in some way trying to cover for her mom by making the case more complicated. The only thing that makes me believe the mom did it, is the fact that she had injuries that were consistent with a struggle.

If the house only has 2 bathrooms & her bedroom has a dedicated bathroom, Tonina slept in the master bedroom - even though it's her mom's apartment. She is completely self-absorbed and paints herself as a victim constantly - even now. Everyone is out to get her, talking about her and treating her badly. It wouldn't surprise me if she drowned her nephew out of jealousy and let her mom take the consequences. If Tonina has her own kids, I'd be worried about them.

Seems to me Tonina is doing her damndest to make everyone think she's the one responsible. Note how she was taken aback that they found evidence of a struggle on her mom. She freezes for a moment, then immediately implicates herself. Is it maybe just extreme denial that her mother was responsible for this? Or did she know her mom did this all along and is trying, quite poorly, to implicate herself instead. That might explain why she let the boy float in the tub while she called 911. She might already have been aware that not only was he dead, but he'd been that way since long before she even woke up that day. That would also explain why police didn't give her the time of day, regardless of how obviously suspicious her stories are. But well, who knows what the truth of it is. In any case, it's clear Tonina's got her own issues. Her sudden mood swings certainly do line up if she's being treated for bipolar. Her constant changing of the story also lines up with that, especially if she's off her meds like Vicki claims. It's a bit baffling that the sisters trusted these two women with a laundry list of mental health problems each with their children unsupervised. The truth is either one could have done it. The physical evidence points to Terry, so that's who they nailed to the wall.

AGREE! Mom might have been mentally unwell too, but I think part of that could be caused by dealing with her daughter. The bruises her mom had were probably done by Tonina as well. This is infuriating, she should be in prison for life.

I am absolutely convinced that Tonina did it during one of her fits, the mother caught her, and they fought, which is how she ended up with the scratches that were used as evidence against Terry. She then manipulated her emotionally and psychologically vulnerable mother to take the fall, or even believe that it was Terry that did it. Tonina's story isn't consistent. Her sisters don't believe that she wasn't involved. Tonina never referred to DeAngelo with his name. She distanced herself from it. She has a gigantic victim complex and keeps making herself the victim of it rather than her nephew or her sister who just lost her son. She keeps talking about how it's affected her, rather than discussing anything about her sisters, or even her mother. She keeps painting her mother as suspicious, but not to the point where she'd seem like a bad daughter, because that would make her look like a bad person. When she's talking about the CPR during the second interview, she keeps talking about how she feels she could've saved him, which is a real thing, but this is not how guilt usually sounds like. She keeps talking about how everyone blames her. About how hard it is. The 911 call was so strange, she started up emotionless, and then became a hysteric, fake crying wreck. She deflects everything, avoids everything, and can't give clear or direct answers. Why would she have to insist that she's innocent and doesn't understand why people keep telling her that she's to blame for it, when the blame is already on her mother? She's overcompensating. Her nodding yes while trying to say no, then saying she doesn't sleepwalk even though she does, and it wasn't even answering the question. Fucking nothing lines up. The mother doesn't even remember. She just keeps repeating that she snapped, which is sounds more like she was told that rather than what really happened.

She expressed concern about work being too hard for Tonina and also concern with what Tonina had turned her room into. She knew she was mentally unwell but not to this extent most likely. I think her vague statement of “I just snapped” was the best she could come up with to cover for her daughter. The bruises on her were probably inflicted by Tonina . Also, this was some of the worst detective work I’ve ever seen. They really dropped the ball with this one but not sure they cared enough to get it right.

I agree. Just like that song sounds like some satanic sacrifice, she could have been living that out. Her narcissism displayed through this video is sickening. Super model that everyone was jealous of? She did get away with murder and left her mother take the fall. There’s a special place in hell for demons like her.

I picked up on the fact she stated when she woke up she was wearing different clothes. Was this because she changed her wet clothes after drowning him? She's definitely mentally ill. I thought she was guilty from the second she opened her mouth. One strange cookie! Her mom was protecting her. She'll be in the news again. I pray for her children.

I read in a separate article that during a jail visitation with DeAngelo's parents, Terry mouthed the words "Tonina did it", but she wouldn't say it out loud to them. I think the little boy woke up early that morning and was playing loudly, Tonina snapped, beat the hell out of him, and the grandmother tried to intervene and was attacked as well. Which is why she had scratches on arms, from Tonina, not DeAngelo. I think Tonina put him in the tub to drown at least an hour before she actually called the police, and cut up his shirt and a piece of shower curtain to try and come up with a story about someone else in the home. That is why Terry refused to help with CPR, she knew he was dead already. Also, the paramedics noted that both adults had dry clothes on. Leading me to believe they took him out the tub and changed clothes, and were probably standing there trying to come up with a plan before calling 911. Tonina's paranoia throughout the whole ordeal is her guilt clearly erupting from her conscience.

I do too. Like her mother may have placed the child in there with her mental health fog and Tonina seen and opportunity to m*rder the child and her mother take the blame. Because her mother placed the child and possibly walked away her mother could even believe herself that she did it herself and explaining her "not knowing".I believe Tonina did it and was able to blame her mom and even get her mom to believe herself that she did it.

I'm no psychologist. But She's definitly an accomplice to murder. Most who are involve in murders act like her in interrogations. She constantly goes back and forth from victimizing herself, to talking about herself how she's a good person, making it all about her while never mentioning once about what the child went through. She veiws the child like an object rather then a human being. This is classic signs of guilt, but police can't do anything unless their is evidence.

I wonder if she killed her own father too so she could have control of her mother and their finances. She reminds me of my Aunty who was pushing my head under water in a bathtub when my mother caught her. A bitter young woman (like my Aunty) jealous of a child for getting attention and having money spent on them. She clearly hated him since she couldn't even cry and she didn't even try CPR since she was dry and she was fake blowing as you can hear on the recording.
