IT Engineer here. I just recovered from the thumb issue on the joints (horrible pain). If you have the same issue in your thumb joint, I too consulted a lot of doctors. What worked for me was Panchuguna Taila(ayurvedic). Take a tbsp of it in a spoon, warm it on the gas stove and apply it on the thumb joint(old village nuskha). I am not sure if you can find in Bangalore. That worked wonders. Also keep using the splint on regularly so you do not apply a lot of strain on your thumb.
