how would this work because when you adopt a sim doesn't it usually show them coming from the adopted parents on the tree? i'm not sure if the mod would overwrite this, add another branch or just not work for adoptees

I'm not really a family player at first because i like to just make a sim and get going. I never have the attention span to sit making parents and grandparents and siblings.. this is the perfect mod for some backstory without having to make play multiple generations!. As a genealogist and an avid sims player... this is right up my alley lol. I also play generationally (usually going about 20+ generations until the game just can't handle it anymore before creating a new save). I really wish we had a better family tree system in the game...

One of the options is to create a tree for an existing Sims that you have for in-progress games (or replace thier real ones like in a Legacy challenge or whatever), the other option will generate a family tree that has none yet.

I have been doing my own family genealogy since 2005. Anyhow 5 generations goes back to a persons second great grandparents (the parents of your great grandparents). So the generation are thus: Gen1-Your Sim--Gen2: Mom and Dad--Gen3: Grandparents (2 sets). Gen4: Great Grandparents (4 sets) and Gen5: Great-Great grandparents (8 sets). The pop up said that it would generate 5 generations in the tree and the sims parents would show up, and possibly the grandparents. That is likely why one grandfather is missing. It chose not to generate him, but the other three were generated. This is a very interesting mod. I will have to look into it.

I have other mods that enable that, but if you don’t have those, you need to enabled testing cheats and then shift click on your sim and the option will pop up!

@@SimsAllAround one button give your sim a family and deletes the existing one, the other removes the sims as family to your sim and gives them a new family! So either way the kids of those sims wouldn’t be family to those sims anymore or they would be deleted 😅

It said that you would have gravestones of dead grandparents, only one of her grandfathers is dead so she should have gotten at least one.

Well I think that her immediate grandparents she would get gravestones. Not great grandparents, so she didn’t have any because her grandparents were all alive.
