Minerves on the Move

Күн бұрын

We have been living and working abroad for ONE MONTH as foreigners (expats) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia after moving from the United States of America. In this video we take a tour of medical facilities, hike at the botanical gardens, visit the International Community School's market, and explore!
This video also features ‪@ICSAddisEthiopia‬
❤️❤️❤️❤️ SUBSCRIBERS make us smile 😁❤️❤️❤️
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ABOUT US & OUR CHANNEL
We are a expats and a typical black American family living and teaching abroad at the International Community School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We were born and raised in California but spent most of our adult life in Atlanta, GA where we met at Spelman and Morehouse College.
A few years ago we left our jobs teaching in the United States for a life abroad in Honduras which started our journey. Our channel has 2 goals which have shifted over time:
1. To show black families and people of color what a life abroad could look like.
2. To show the beauty in all countries
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ABOUT ADDIS ABABA
Addis ababa is the capital and largest city of Ethiopia. In the 2007 census, the city's population was estimated to be 2,739,551 inhabitants. Addis Ababa is a highly developed and important cultural, artistic, financial and administrative center of Ethiopia. It is widely known as one of Africa's capitals. There are so many direct flights to Addis!

Thank you, dear sister, for unveiling the breathtaking beauty of Ethiopia to the world. Ethiopia extends its warm embrace to all, especially to the global Black community. This land stands as a beacon of pride and resilience-a nation that has never bowed to colonization and a people who triumphed over Italian forces in the historic Battle of Adwa in 1896. For the Black diaspora, Ethiopia is more than a country; it is a home, a sanctuary of heritage, and a testament to unyielding strength. To all who have journeyed to this beautiful land, we thank you for experiencing its wonders and becoming part of its story. May God bless you abundantly.

Just a suggestion, take your kids to Abrehot library. I'm sure they will enjoy it. There is also a big playground and a park called 'Unity Park' nearby. If you are going to spend time in the park, it will have to be a day of activity on it's own. Actually going to Unity Park is not just a one day visit, it's the kind of place you get up and go whenever you feel like you want the kids to have an active day. Just make sure to go on a Saturday as they will be having a water fountain show at around 6pm, you don't wan't to miss it (trust me). All the best to you and your family.

@@MinervesOnTheMove the name of the park is Friendship park, sorry for the mix-up. Unity Park is across the street, and it is as good as Friendship Park, it even have a zoo inside. But this time just go to friendship park and you will go to unity park next time. With the kids and all you don't want to do too much in one day. The water fountain show is at friendship park.

great stuff, watching from abroad and missing my country😂🥲 it's good Yours is a different experience than I've watched before but as a suggestion, try to watch other videos because there are so many more things to do. I guess, I mean, you've been barely to any the parks garden's, public monuments, museums, and places to visit in general. that would give you more content.

Please tell all Americans who are watching your visit. Africa is not a desert. Believe everyone in USA thinks Africa is a very hot climate. They don't know it varies from country to country. Even ethiopia it depends which part of ethiopia you are. North western ethiopia is colder than addis, and the some time eastern part of ethiopia is very hot.
