I believe Donkey Kong accidentally ripped her in two on the way up because we know Donkey Kong is hella strong and we see that when he grabs her we see that he grabs her a bit above the waist which is where it appears where she was ripped in half from. And we also see that when Mario comes up, Donkey Kong isn't really angry because yeah sure he does that pose/animation but it appears he doesn't do it out of anger but more out of anxiety and stress kind of like when you send a risky text you sometimes tend to walk around to try and alleviate that anxiety and stress and we see his eyebrows aren't pulled down and together which would show his anger but rather he looks worried and distressed like he didn't really mean to do it.
