This song is a metal staple of Video Game composition as a whole. I'd say as far as guitar music in gaming, it transcends even the titan that is Xenoblade Chronicles itself. I've had more than a handful of students come to me with this song wanting to learn it, so I've known how to play it for so long, but I've always felt weird about covering songs that are already metal. With the Definitive Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles just releasing though, there feels like there will hardly be a better time to take on this classic though.
I've really enjoyed doing the last few Xenoblade songs since it's nice to cover music actually designed to be played on a guitar, but I always seem to struggle to arrange these songs differently since it always seems to take away from the feel of the original. I really tried my best to replicate the original sound while also intertwining my own style into this one. Still with how much work I put into selecting subtle string and synth parts and layers along with writing a quick original solo after doing my best to cover the original, this cover came together really quick and was a lot of fun!

@@wolfpack_104 you might be waiting awhile, then. 😅 Trust me; you get your money's worth and then some just by playing it once all the way through! Incredible story; memorable characters; beautiful scenery; interesting side quests that make that world feel more real and relatable; top-notch music; and the list goes on. Not to mention that there's now a 10-12 hour bonus story that takes place one year later in-game! The DE was my first time playing (though I was familiar with the story and gameplay already), and I easily sunk 100+ hours into the main game and 12+ hours into the bonus story. I couldn't get enough of it, it's so good! 😍 Anyway...all that to say this: I wouldn't recommend waiting for a sale on the game that may never come; but trust me when I say it's more than worth your money! ☺

I listened to your cover of You Will Know Our Names, and was absolutely blown away. But this track just doesn't have the impact that the real version does when you replace most of the instrumentals with guitars. The violins really make it beyond epic. This is still a solid piece, but I guess it just speaks for how absolutely amazing the original is, as well as the Definitive Edition version.
