Whatever I said for the RX still stands for the NX. It is highly sensible car with a bit of style and while the top trims can get expensive, have you priced out an X1 xDrive28i or GLC300 these days? These compact luxury SUVs can get crazy expensive, easily exceeding $60k CDN...before taxes. Also I feel Lexus is more willing to use expensive materials inside vs. Acura; too much hard plastics used and gimmicks (the dual screen is a big one). The 300h should have been priced cheaper since it exist in the Rav4 while the 200t is a Lexus exclusive; I felt that was a cock-up there by the company. Still the NX has been a sales hit, not a surprise given the Asian community in Markham, Scarborough & Toronto LOVES their RX. If you don't need the large size of the RX, this is a great choice as it will undercut a equivalent X1, Q5 or GLC and given Lexus reliability, the cost of ownership will definitely be lower as well.

Best Review ever!!!! I think first reviewer ever that touched on something extremely important: "Trunk space for family dog".... wow! I have a German Shepherd and live far from any city Lexus dealership (200+ miles), thus I searched, and searched and searched for videos, until I found this!!! Thanks !! It appears I will not get a Nx300H then.

Agreed. Lexus calls it the "spindle grill" and I think it really makes the NX pop.

I installed a K&N air filter in my 2016, I don't feel ANY turbo lag at all, don't just floor it from a stop, accelerate a little then floor it, much different, know how to drive it. love mine, ESPECIALLY the comfy seats. paid $41.5k out the door.
@FamilyWheels7 жыл бұрын
Hi David. Glad you're liking your car. I agree, the NX is very smooth. I point out the acceleration because this is an issue with so many 4-cylinder turbos. But you're right, under every day driving most people don't drive this way anyways so it's a non-issue. Thanks for writing.

Keep in mind that he's talking Canadian $. In Canada, base price is $42,950 for the 200t before you option it out, taxes, discounts, etc.

Canada always gets nicer color choices than USA. Got a white one F sport for my mom a few days ago. Nice overall car. Way better than the 2011 IS250 we had. My mom is 67. lol

The orange is a color choice in the US. As is a bright red and the traditional Lexus electric blue.

I have the F Sport Hybrid version, the car is fantastic, it is a great alternative to the German cars which have lost their individuality, they are every where in my area, this car is very relaxing to drive and I think it helps you enjoy the ride rather blasting round like a bonehead.
@7c8f9x5 жыл бұрын
One more thing, the NX really handles well, as if on rails, maybe because it's not so high off the ground? But I love the way it drives, and I especially love the dash at night, there are so many different colored lights, it looks like a jet airplane. This is my 8th car made by Toyota, I have loved all of them, get in, push the starter button and go. My 2008 Camry Hybrid??? 8 years not 1 problem. I probably will replace my 2012 Sienna with a 2020 sienna SE. Reason? I just really like my 12 and the new ones have so much more cool stuff.

Hi , I live in Toronto, Ontario, got NX F sport series 3 in November 2016. Like the car. drives well and the room is good for my family. I have a daughter 3 years old and all my family fits in this car perfectly. The quality of this car i outstanding. the only complains I have - Still can't adjust the seats to get comfortably and the mileage economy is around 11.5-12 liters in the city. in 2 weeks I will visit my dealer and will raise these questions. So far I recommend these vehicle.
@p_roduct92117 жыл бұрын
Olena Ya Do you feel you might need to upgrade your car 13 years down the road (when you have a fuller grown, semi-adult in the back)? They had a shot 2 mins into the video with a child strapped to a booster seat... His shoes were just touching the backseat! I may be misunderstanding the leg positioning of a child in a safety seat but would like to hear your opinion :)

Great review. Would you recommend the F-sport package 2 or 3 for a casual driver like me?
@FamilyWheels7 жыл бұрын
That just depends on how many bells and whistles you want. These F-sport packages drive up the price pretty quickly without any changes to the powerplant so a lower level trim may be fine for you.

There will be a few differences with the US and Canadian models. The US model has a base price of $35K, with the F-Sport base model at $37K (both FWD models....add about $1500 for AWD). Additionally, the F-Sport in the US only has 1 type/series, so what you see is what you get. From there, it's pretty much all about the packages/options you pay for. I'm looking into one currently that's FWD/fully decked out (minus the highest price rims), and I'm looking at mid $40s.
@FamilyWheels7 жыл бұрын
You're right, Will. There are a surprising number of differences between the US and Canadian models. This is often the case despite the fact that vehicles are almost always made in the same factory for the North American market.
@PrierPerson847 жыл бұрын
That's something I've never quite understood, but haven't dedicated the time to figure out why (and likely never will). I did highly enjoy driving the vehicle, though. The feel was incredibly similar to my '07 Saab 9-3 SportCombi (other than the high/ground clearance, of course), which is an extremely positive thing.

great reviews. Im torn between the rdx and the nx. what do you suggest for a better driver? I'm a single guy who is looking for more room vs a car for mountain biking and paddle boarding. to me the acura has more features but the nx just feels better to drive. both cars will be base models. thanks.
@FamilyWheels7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if you've checked out our RDX review as well. If not, take a look. I found the NX to be a far more entertaining drive. It also looks a lot more interesting than the RDX for a young guy like yourself. Lexus is also famously reliable. They both have their weaknesses but I'd lean toward the NX.
@healthfreak797 жыл бұрын
thank you for getting back to me. and yes I saw both rewiews. it's more the ride and seat quality I like in the nx. Acura comes with more features in the base model. I keep coming back to that lexus is the most reliable car manufacturer there is.
