Hi, I have good news. I had the same problem when I've bought a used familyfix base. The reason for this non stop test mode is corrosion on the chip contacts due to liquids spelt onto the base. The trick is to have some star allen keys old toothbrush and rubbing alcohol, FIX: open the battery cover, batteries out, unscrew two tiny screws - very small star tip, flip over the schematic. Mine had white-blueish corrosion spots on the chip and some small capacitors/resistors. That probably short circuited the system into test mode. Grab your toothbrush, dip it in the cap of the rubbing alcohol filled with it. now gently rub the corrosion off. Along / parallel the contacts and the small circuit parts. Wipe it with a clean paper towel, repeat until it is all clean. Remaining alcohol will evaporate in a minute or two. Assemble back, batteries in, and it WORKS! Took me hours of research and i disassembled it of disparity. Good luck to all!

Thanks, this sorted mine out! It was previously only beeping once when batteries were changed, and then remaining silent to any input. There was also some blue corrosion on the board, plus a load of gunk. In trying to get all the gunk off (using contact cleaner) I accidentally snapped off one of the capacitors (?), but remarkably it now works perfectly (or seems to - I inherited the unit and had never had it working). Great tip.

@@JamesReadUK Can you tell me how to remove the tip of the leg, which rests on the floor of the car

@@PoTpebuTelKoHTeHTa I'm afraid not, I never had need to remove the tip of the leg. Good luck!

This is the 'test mode'. You can come out of it by pressing-and-holding the test button beneath the display (that's also how it is first entered).

not sure if this could fix but does it need calibration after batteries have been changed????

Just take the batteries out. The base is still good. Everybody knows how to install that thing. Other seats on ISOFix got no lights and still work perfectly fine. I got one for 6 or 7 years now that had the rope disengage from the handle. No way to get that back in. Just put another rope around the metal end of the old rope and pull there. Lots of the handles break off anyways.

except the ones with no batteries still have a mechanic red/green switch that confirms the seat is placed securely. this is terrible piece of advise...

Totalmente cierto. Vergonzoso. Tengo varias y me he llevado una gran desilusión. El vídeo es real, ya que a mí me sucede exactamente lo mismo. ¿Alguien sabe cómo solucionarlo?
