The most popular or well-known prophets in the "books" have brown or dark skin or fair light dark skin, not white like English or Western people. Those prophets originate from the same places surrounding the area of Jerusalem. The religion began in these areas, from Jerusalem-North Africa, Persian and north Saudi Arabia. This is the oldest civilization. People are moving around these areas back and forth. The Western have not come into the picture yet. Westerners are in the dark ages during that time. So, don't expect white prophets. The Africans are so much more civilized than others at that time, especially in Egypt and some nations in middle and north Africa. Even the Persians are earlier than the Romans. So, all these people are mostly Semitic people. And how dare you call them anti-semitic??? They are more Semitic than the current Semitic people in Israel. (which I doubt if they are really the Jews, to begin with). The Africans are the most civilized people and more advanced than other people in the world during that time. Black people at that time were respectful and powerful people just like the White people today. So, don't look down on black or dark skin prophets. Don't compare with today because the West made black people so low today due to colonization, slavery, and looting all their wealth for more than a thousand years.

Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him) is considered the "Father of Prophets" because most of the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an were from his lineage. This can be summarized as follows: Prophet Ismail (Ishmael, peace be upon him): He is the son of Prophet Ibrahim through Hajar (Hagar), and he is the ancestor of the Arabs. From his lineage came Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the Seal of the Prophets. Prophet Ishaq (Isaac, peace be upon him): He is the son of Prophet Ibrahim through his wife Sarah. From his lineage came Prophet Yaqub (Jacob, peace be upon him), also known as Israel. From him descended the tribes of Bani Israel, among whom were many prophets, such as: Prophet Yusuf (Joseph, peace be upon him). Prophets Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron, peace be upon them). Prophets Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon, peace be upon them). Prophets Zakariya (Zechariah) and Yahya (John, peace be upon them). Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), and many others. This illustrates that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was the root from which the great tree of prophethood branched out. This is a great honor for him, as Allah made him a leader for all people and chose him to convey the message to his children and descendants. The prophets were not black.

Tbh it doesn't really matter because we know that there were some 124K prophets sent to mankind indeed. Yes, Prophets Suleiman, Dawud, Moses (AS) were indeed black. In the case of Musa (AS) it coincides with the Quran and what Prophet Muhammad (SAW) says. I agree with you about the Quran because it did state when his hand came out of his collar it was shining white and that was to demonstrate a miraculous event. Logically, if his skin color was white already it wouldn't be a miracle really, but him being of black complexion then yes, his shining white hand would indeed be a miracle, which was actually what God intended it to be. I thought The Prophet (saw) said he had woolly hair, I'm sure I read it somewhere so not sure why Omar Suleiman said it was straight as it doesn't really coincides with folks of African race/descent in terms of hair types, if you know what I mean. Also I thought of the Pharaoh's wife Asiya, who was a Ethiopian princess as I understand it, and she fell in love with baby Moses/Musa when he was found & adopted him etc. I'm guessing one of the reasons apart from it being Allah's decreed was because he might've resembled her own people, though of course I don't think racism existed in those days since she was one of many of the Pharaoh's wives, and he was red skin in complexion apparently. Anyway, Allah knows best. Jesus (AS) came from the same lineage as Moses (AS) so it's no surprise if he was of dark complexion but again Allah Azza Wajal knows best. There must have been European/white prophets too but I've never heard of any.

@Q29i Absolutely indeed, as most North Africans were, whether in Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya or Algeria. There's definitely African DNA/genealogy there. In fact, most homo sapiens i.e, humans DNA consist of small or sometimes large amounts of African DNA since the first homo sapiens were discovered to be in the continent of Africa itself. On the other hand, homo neanderthals, which were derived from Europe/Scandinavia had white skin, blue eyes, stocky bodies etc because they were only able to withstand the cold climate thereabouts due to the melanin, pigmentation etc and how they were created. Of course there were other different types of humans eg the pigmies of Africa, Aborigines of Australia, Eskimos of Antarctica, Mongols of Mongolia, etc etc. Everyone on the planet are all mixed up because when the continents got joined up a lot of interbreeding took place according to scientific evidence I believe. Yes, the noses were chopped off from the statues you mentioned, there are documentaries on the subject and how it came about. Nevertheless it's just as well because depictions and statues are forbidden in Islam since they're regarded as idols.

Omar Suleiman has undoubtedly misrepresented the prophets (although he had good intentions). The vast majority of the prophets he were talking about were Middle Eastern, not African black as he tries to almost insinuate at times. There were prophets sent to every nation, so countries with black people had many great prophets - but Islam is the culmination of their message.

A side note, Hagar AS was also the first governor of Mecca. When the Yemenite tribe of Jurhum came to Mecca (it was known as "Al-Bekka" by Hagar in her Egyptian Coptic language), they sought her permission to settle there and she granted it.
