Correction: Jesse Owens was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal (not the Congressional Medal of Honor). And to clarify, the birth date on Walter Huston's marker is incorrect, hence the age discrepancy.

@@ronaldsteele6151 now we know what the problem is, like Corey said "is and will be the biggest problem with Hollywood is the Pedophiles". Those with talent are traumatized and overwhelmed by abuse and thats why they go off the deep end, not pressure to perform on stage but off stage is their downfall. Time for that to stop. My dad used to work at Washington Memory Gardens and was there when Bernie Mac was buried. There are several other famous people buried there like Koko Taylor who recorded the original Wang Dang Doodle and Major Lance who was a singer in the 60's. Many blues artists are there. At Holy Sepulchre there is a grave of a child (I think the last name is Quinn) and apparently if you make a wish it comes true. A family friend is buried there. Both of these graveyards are in Chicago suburbs and not far from the downtown area.

The Day when man shall remember what he strove for. 36. And Hell- fire shall be made apparent in full view for ( every ) one who sees. 37. Then for him who transgressed all bounds, ( in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allâh ) . 38. And preferred the life of this world ( by following his evil desires and lusts ) , 39. Verily, his abode will be Hell- fire; 40. But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires and lusts. 41. Verily, Paradise will be his abode. 42. They ask you ( O Muhammad ( saas ) ) about the Hour - when will be its appointed time? 43. You have no knowledge to say anything about it. 44. To your Lord belongs ( the knowledge of ) the term thereof? 45. You ( O Muhammad ( saas ) ) are only a warner for those who fear it, 46. The Day they see it, ( it will be ) as if they had not tarried ( in this world ) except an afternoon or a morning.

It still surprises me to see the simple headstones and resting places of some of the most famous (and often, wealthy) people of the 20th & 21st century. For example, Walter Huston's grave. Audie Murphy's grave in Arlington is also very simple. And while Charles Shultz has a bench, his headstone is the same as my veteran husband's headstone in a small Michigan cemetery.

It's no coincidence that just last night I watched "Apollo 13", and afterwards was thinking about Jack Swigert. Then this morning, I see this video posted and, naturally, I watch. And who do I see at 21:47 but Jack Swigert. This is just another one of those times when God allows us to connect with those who have gone before us. It's all in the plan, perhaps as a way to help us thank them for what they did and to help us prepare ourselves for our own eventual departure from this world.

I pulled up KZbin to find something to listen to whilst cleaning out my desk on this dead day at the parlor. I was ecstatic to see this video pop up. Fun fact: my sis helped direct Rick James funeral. Another fun fact. I happened to be directing a funeral the same day as Nate Dogg's funeral took place in Long Beach. As I was driving the procession back for burial, a woman sped out of a neighborhood, cut right through the procession and got right up to my hearse to peer in. My only guess what that she thought I had Nate Dogg. Nope, but I did work at the cemetery across the street from that Forest Lawn, and later that day got caught up in the security hoopla running around for work. I hope you do another one of these series, and that when you do I have time to participate. This was such a joy to see.

Probably the best, or one of the best cemetery tours you have done. Lots of known, familiar names, movies, and just good historical information. Watched it all the way through without stopping. Thank you, RS.

Food for thought about Geo. Eastman. He had something like OCD, and always spoke of things being done ' neatly and efficiently', he famously traced all the tools on his workshop and garage walls, to know precisely where everything was supposed to be. The day he committed suicide, he went to his personal physician, and asked him to trace the location of the hearts position on his torso (Idk what he said his reasoning was), and when he got home, he opened his shirt, put the gun barrel precisely in the center of the doctors sketch, and pulled the trigger. Friends and family were surprised by the act, but not the method.

I am a USAF brat and spent time in the early 70s in Japan. I used to listen to the Far East Network with my transistor radio under my pillow each week night, listening to old radio shows. I LOVED MY FAVORITE HUSBAND, it was my favorite. I am one of the few people of my age who actually heard the radio show before I ever saw I LOVE LUCY.

Loved this series! It was extremely popular! Interesting too! Maybe you can make this a yearly tradition. Sadly there have been other celebrities, musicians, athletes etc. that have recently passed away. I have two that I could submit once I'm better at filming with my camera. Thank you for doing this!

Actually, Lucy died from aortic dissection. The same thing John Ritter died from, who was actually a huge fan of Lucy's andwas a big inspiration to him. I loved it when Lucy hosted the best of Three's Company in the eraly 80s. They worked together twice, once on that Three's Company special and then on Life With Lucy, where John played himself.

I don't tend to comment except when I experience extraordinary things. I've been watching you guys for a while and just had to express how much I enjoy your entertaining and informative shows. Thank you for the ultimate cemetery visit experience. I visit cemeteries myself. Here in Oregon, we have some mighty old ones and I'm always left wishing I knew who the people were and how they lived and died. You've made my wishes come true! You educate and even show pictures and play snippets of music! I especially love hearing about the dearly departed accomplishments and am often amazed to find out about the contributions people have made that I would have never found out without Hollywood Graveyard. No surprise that you are such a great success. You're an excellent host, Arthur Dark, just the right mix of reverence and humor. And I enjoy Giuseppe Vasapolli's music - unique, just the right type of quirky-spooky-Hollywood in it's heydey melodies so appropriate for visiting dead famous people and celebrities. Thank you and kudos to all of you! You consistently deliver quality content and always provide a satisfying watching experience. Quality, polished, entertaining, educational, inspirational, and meaningful are the words that come to mind. Look forward to the next Hollywood Graveyard adventure!

I’ve JUST discovered this, the other day, and I’m absolutely binging on these fascinating videos of yours. Your research is remarkable, and as my husband said when I played him one of these, your voice and tone are very pleasant to listen to. Plus, I think your camera guy does a GREAT job - these are filmed and edited really well. Unless you’re your own camera guy, and if yeah, good on ya’! I’ve always been interested in graveyards - I’m of the mind that they aren’t creepy or spooky but, they’re there for us to be able to remember the existences of those inhabiting them, famous or not - those who came before us shouldn’t just disappear into the netherworlds of history but, rather should be recognized and acknowledged, even just for a moment. Everyone’s existence means something. However, I’m 60 and most people my age are more of the thought that graveyards should be avoided except to visit those people they know. So, though I’m in ABSOLUTELY NO HURRY to move into one any time soon, I’m glad to see there are others who share my interest and thankfully post it on the Interwebs. Thanks so much for this enormously interesting and informative channel! Plus, about a week or so back, I got to prowl around the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA - man, that was cool!
