They filmed a movie at the hubbys job years ago. He was the Mgr at the time. The film crew came in and painted certain areas of the office to be used. They set their props up and we got to see the whole process. I can't remember the name of the movie but Brad Renfro and Darryl Hannah starred in it. He came over an introduced himself to us. She did too. But he was such a sweetheart. He even managed to get my daughter on as an extra. He was as real and personable as they come. He took pictures with all of us. And when they broke for lunch, we were invited to sit with the cast members and have lunch also. He came and sat with us and was just chatting away. Darryl Hannah also sat with us. She was so beautiful. Anyway, we were so sorry when we heard he had passed away. You are missed Brad. Rest In Peace, Buddy 💙

They filmed at my stepdads work (an airport in New Orleans called “Lakefront Airport”) for THE CLIENT. Used in the film, was the ending clip as the family is taking off to move from Louisiana. Imagine a 12-13 year old me seeing the client when it came out, falling in love with Brad, then finding out my stepdad was there when it was filmed-Devastated. At 38 I saw his grave and sent photos to my family. They were happy as they knew meeting him had always been a bucket lister.

Ledger's death totally overshadowed Brad's death. I didn't even know. Same thing with Michael Jackson, and Farrah Fawcet. Her tragic passing was almost ignored because of MJ. And that in itself was really sad and tragic. She deserved way more then her 1 minute announcement. That's a gorgeous piece of Land that Renfro occupies. And back to Mother Earth.. he goes. xo :*

@@anitaknight3915 Totally agree. How can a kid living in a trailer take on a movie role like that and act the role so perfectly that he never seemed to be acting? TV and the movies are full of kids and young teens who make a lot of money and haven't 1% the talent he had. The people who facilitated his weakness towards drugs etc. should live in shame at what they were part of destroying.

I watched The Client and could not believe that this kid had no training, no experience, and went from living in a mobile home to that role on the screen. He was still only ten years old when filming started and his performance was totally natural. You never caught him 'acting'. IMO he had at least the same level of natural talent as James Dean, but doesn't get the recognition. And nothing against i.e. Mac Culkin but Renfro had 100x the talent, instead of being cute and mugging for the camera. RIP.

Brad was one of those rare people for whom acting/performance just *flowed* out of them naturally. I feel like these are people who carry unhealed wounds and unspeakable childhood pain, and that's how they access such remarkable ability in their craft. Acting seems to distract them from the trauma of their past. To put it another way - as with substance abuse, it's as if the characters they portray help distance them from the pain they carry. I really don't know how all that works, but it's often you see the most gifted actors struggle with substance abuse, and end up passing away. They carry a heavy load their whole lives, and often times this is the result. Tough as it is for their fans to believe, these actors are human too. Rest in peace, Brad. ❤

Micheal was his Uncle and I believe Micheal read the obituary at Brad’s funeral. Also, I don’t know for sure but I don’t think his relationship was bad with his father. I think there’s a lot we don’t know. He had substance abuse issues but that’s not who he was. There’s no doubt some type of abuse happened when he was out making movies but aside from drugs and any abuse….he was a wonderfully talented, sweet and down to earth young man. He could play guitar like no other and was very talented 💜 He was my crush in the 90’s teen magazines and still is. Life can be so hard sometimes and I hope he isn’t hurting anymore. His dear Grandmother JoAnne that raised him past away back in 2008 of February not to long after Brad and I don’t believe she’s buried at Red House. @@anitaknight3915 Corey Haim and River Phoenix, with all due respect, were not the natural acting talent Brad was, and they were encouraged if not pushed to get into acting. Renfro got his first role not because he was cute but because he was so real, and a social worker suggested him for the Client role. Unlike the others, you never caught him acting. A shame though that none of them survived their careers; their careers helped end their lives by making drugs so easy to get involved with.
