Madonna? As I understand it she is Italian, 110% Roman Catholic... And Whoopie Goldberg even said herself in her biography 'I adopted a Jewish sounding surname because my mother felt that our family name wasn't 'Jewish enough" to make me a star'... Whoopi Goldberg is the stage name of Caryn Johnson.Her father was some kind of Protestant minister.George Michael is the stage name of Georgios Panayiotou, an Englishman of Greek etc ancestry. Michael Douglas had two Jewish grandparents. I'd bet the farm that Sean Penn is an American-Irish Catholic. Madonna's dabbling in Jewish mysticism does not mean that she's entirely abandoned her former Catholic faith. Now that the Inquisition is shut down, people mix and match without fear.
