Glory to God for Chris's testimony. What a powerful story of redemption and an exceptional example of God's grace. You've hit the nail on the head with the culture and the tickling of eardrums going on with mainstream preachers. We need to exercise discretion to avoid false teachers who aren't actively preaching a holistic Gospel. Thanks for sharing, Pastor Matthew. I appreciate your insight. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, sir!

I watched your entire video on Ravi when it posted, and I can assure you that what I saw was a man solely speaking on the subject as an admonishment for Christians, everywhere; from all walks of life, both male and female, young and old. I appreciated you speaking honestly and frankly. Sexual immorality is a very dangerous sin. One Paul would often list, first. I also appreciated the theological considerations you posed for us to think about at the end. Thank you for it.

You said the reason that you posted the video was as an obvious warning to the rest of us and I could not agree more. When you look at this case we as members of the body really have to take a step back and look at how we are doing and engaging with public ministry. I am so glad you did post the video and that many people got to hear you speak and articulate your thoughts on the situation. I hope many of them went on to look at other videos you have posted and hopefully see the difference between a man who is pastoring a local church and a man who is travelling the world and not part of a local church. There is a significant contrast for sure. Thank you for your work and sharing with us here on KZbin I really enjoy your content and I have learned so much from you and look forward to what is to come. May God richly bless you, your family and your work.

What a testimony! Thank you for sharing. These are the kinds of pastors that really deserve the recognition. I can relate to the whole ‘lived a ridiculously wicked life and now I’m radically reformed’ thing. Got saved a little over a year ago and now, instead of wasting my money on drugs and what not, I blow it all on theology books, Puritan literature, and Bibles. From a lost new age addict who lived a life marked by materialism, selfishness, and promiscuity to a Jesus freak who is (prayerfully) heading to Seminary in two years once I finish my bachelor’s! 😆🙏🏻

Excellent message. Sorry to hear you got hit over RZ. I'll check out the Carpenter. By the way, in Grove City, PA about 25 years ago in the midst of the church growth mania I got fed up with the hero worship promoted by denominational leaders set up seminars and conferences "starring" the hotshots. I created my own euphemism about "Hotshots who started out with a half a person and 10 years later had 2000 and a half members." I stopped going to them all together. How I would have loved to see just one speaker who was a simple, faithful pastor, quietly going about his calling and able to do so with no glitz, no trendy adaptations, just the Gospel and thankful people. No one wanted that as an example for pastors. Your words were gold. Thank you.

“The fluff from the Christian bookstore.” 😂 👍 Alright you convinced me; I followed the link and subscribed to Chris’s channel. I also wanted to ask for your thoughts on Ulrich Zwingli. He seems like an interesting figure in Reformation history but very much standing in the shadow of Calvin (or so it seems).

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Greetings, Mr BWB! This is chris. I started seminary about 2yrs after I met Matt. I was already a Christian for about 7 yrs prior to that. There were many preaching/teaching ventures along the way, but it took me about 3.5 yrs to finish seminary, and another 6 0r 7 months before I was formally ordained. Hope this helps. I’d be glad to answer any other questions you have. Matt was a great help to me along the way. Blessings!

Not to sound Pharisaical, but when a pastor is wearing a t-shirt and jean during the Lord's Day worship like I have seen Chris Carpenter, all I see is "I want to be your friend" or "my way" pastor". I don't care on other days, but not during the public worship on the Lord's Day when a pastor should expect the congregation to show "respect and reverence" toward worship. As a PCA Presbyterian, this means both inward and outward.. we are not gnostics. We are not a "keep it real babe" denomination. I expect at least tucked-in button shirt...

@@HenryPipes Just sad that a modern American individualistic Evangelical does not even know what constitutes a Pharisee. Fits with a pastor who thinks just talking biblical on a pulpit is all that he needs to do. His outward life is still filled with himself.. sounds like some recent failed evangelical.

A lot of people that believe in Jesus Christ do not Baptize in the name of Jesus Christ or is not Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. WHY ? They say Jesus Christ is every thing to them , but they will not be Baptized in his name.

Here's the real problem: most people aren't interested in truth they're interested in a "juicy scandal." [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 Stick to your convictions and resist giving in to what people want. Hypocritical leaders cause many people to blaspheme God. People are going to get exactly what they want: [10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Matthew Everhard. Faithful and famous is the key to reaching many people. Because if people know a Minister is Faithful and God is using them the heal the sick and working miracle, they will come to those Ministers for a miracle and healing.
