Great instruction on the setup, I’m going to be fishing the Provo today and will definitely try this out! Thanks

Thanks for the lesson, you were saying if the bobber isn't bouncing add more weight.cant that be achieved by adjusting the bobber....your system will be tried back here in pa. Next time I'm,out and about and in rougher water will the bobber bouncing be noticable....thanks much

Why do they call it the Provo River bounce nymphing rig. I've been using this for over 30 years and I don't live in the beautiful state of Utah. In many states this type of rig, with the weight strictly on the last tag of the tippet and the flies above that, is not legal. Folks need to check the regs.

Tip on the droppers to simplify, instead of cutting the line and retying the surgeons knot, take the end of the tippet to where you want your dropper, then tie a surgeons knot (don’t cut the tippet) makes a loop, then just cut one side of the loop, do it again for the second dropper.

I"ve fished a lot since I first watched this. Streamers, dries, euro nymphing, and this bounce rig. I have to say the bounce rig is the most boring way to fish! Its extremely hard to tell when you get bit, and most every time i've caught a fish its a surprise I find when lifting my rod to lob this back up stream. Also the flies and tags get wrapped all over the main line constantly.

Thanks for the video. It's very helpful. I love the bounce rig, however, when I fish small, unweighted flies, the dropper tag tends to twist around the main leader. Do you experience this? If so, do you have any tips that might help minimize it?

I only use weighted flies....it does not seem to make a difference to me when fishing...this avoids the issue.

I believe the Santa Monica Mountain Range and parts of the San Bernardino also run East to West.

Ayo! This guy was one of our guides at the end up September and we used this style rig. Caught more fish on that trip then I ever did out by myself
