FAMOUS Schindler PORT (formerly Miconic 10) High Rise Elevators at New York Marriott Marquis

After the shooting that happened in Times Square on the same night I filmed this. When I got back from Dinner. I filmed these very famous elevators that are very well known in the Elevator Community. In 2019 they were modded to Schindler Port. I liked the old Miconic 10s better. Handicapped mode I feel like is ruined. I didn’t even use it when I filmed it. I think the new Handicapped mode is better for people who it’s designed for like blind people but when other elevators enthusiasts filmed the Miconic 10s I liked the chime that played. I feel like the Handicapped mode on Miconic 10s were the face of the elevators here. Might I mention these things are partially Key Carded now. There are Key readers on every floor. I think the hotel has the ability to Activate the Key Readers on any floors at anytime because of Schindler Port’s very advanced technology. Some of the panels on some meeting room floors weren’t Key Carded. The 5th floor where I started did have the Key readers activated.

0:41 Actually, you don’t need a keycard to go to a guest floor, but you must start on a floor that is in between 10 and 45. However, regardless what floor you start at, a keycard is required for 46-49. It is unknown if you need a keycard for 48, which is The View Restaurant.

I hate to say it, but this mod was actually needed. These elevators broke very often when they were my conic 10. I remember staying at this hotel in 2017 of February, on the 42nd floor and I actually had to use the service elevators because the main elevators were broken. Returned 2 years later in 2019, i didnt stay here, but I had an epic fail trying to get to 45. So yeah. But these things are good now

Don't go down to 1 during security guards hours, because if you go down to 1 during this hours, higher probability to get busted.

Are these carded 24/7 or only at night?

I'm afraid these are key carded 24/7. But Schindler PORT has technology where they can key card the panels on any floor.

Guys another elevator enthusiast and I have come to the conclusion that these elevators are key carded now because of Vertical Jersey going to the machine room and other places in this building. He was here two weeks before I was here and the elevators weren’t key carded. This is a lesson that the stuff you do can have long lasting consequences.

The View Restaurant was completely closed when I was there. I don’t even know how you can access those floors now. The Office floor above the view you need a code to get there.

55 was just a code to access 49 on Miconic 10. Typing in 55 will say "not found" if you type in 49, it will ask to show a card
