Famous Turquoise Mines - Kingman

WE the Disabled Seniors was able to come across 10lbs of Kingman Gold/Silver Ore Turquoise that was mined over 10yrs+ ago. It is Hard and had to be Patience in cutting just a slab/end cut. I cab the Turquoise on up to 3,000grit and it is Beautiful. It's the very first time I cabbed a Turquoise. I have not polished the Cabs. BTW, it is the Third and Fourth Cab I ever Cabbed - Just started out Lapidary. Now should I cut the Turquoise into SLABS and treat them??? What is the best treatment that we should use??? It's 10 Pound of High Grade Gold and Silver Ore from Kingman Arizona with Visible Gold and Silver. It was collected in Kingsman Arizona years ago. My Friends Fiancé Grandfather passed on and it was time for them to pass on the stones. I FILL/AM GREATLY HONORED TO HAVE ACQUIRED THIS EXTRODINARY KINGMAN TURQUISE.

What type of turquoise would have a deep to light blue turquoise, a tight webbed pattern, and a black pyrite matrix? Also what type of turquoise has a wider webbing and pyrite matrix that makes the water run black when cutting it? P.s. Tysm for your videos

I heard that the owners of the Kingman mine regularly stain the tan matrix of their natural turquoise with a black mineral stain (manganese stain) to highlight the matrix black. Is this acceptable? Does it lower the value of the natural turquoise?

There is a range of treatment of turquoise. The best known is stabilized turquoise which injects some form of plastic into the rock. Enhanced grows silica inside the rock through a chemical process and is more difficult to detect. Surface treatments vary from applying some form of oil to top filling of matrix to filling if fissures or cracks to the staining you mentioned. Any treatment should be disclosed and it will affect the price.

Once I heard that about Kingman I was turned off of their turquoise. I am not interested in a company that is it transparent about their processes. Staining matrix is the same as dyeing turquoise, which to me is not acceptable.
