It bothers me that people only seem to be commenting on Ben's riffs and vocal quality. Don't get me wrong, he sings wonderfully, but this song is beautiful and deserves recognition. Alexander Sage Oyen: congratulations on such a heartfelt and moving song.

that's something I ALWAYS think about when some _____(anything) gets a lot of recognition. I definitely understand complementing someone on their ability to perform it as that's a very talented human as well, and it's well deserved... but somehow not much gets mentioned about who wrote it besides a "lyrics and music by" line. I think what actually gets to me is the whole culture of, especially when something really blows up, it's the one who performs the material (in all mediums) whose opinion people care about, about the material itself, and everything else. Like the material came out of them. It's just so odd to me. Not saying every writer cares, look at the entire pop music factory, but it always irked me. It's the writers material, sometimes ONE song/show makes bonifide stars out of the performers and doors open up everywhere... while the writers generally have to keep proving them self over and over again until their let's say, road to success MAY become less challenging for them. If ever. Woops, rant over.
