Dr. Foster will go down as one of the greatest bandmasters in history. Listen to that distinct and rich balance of sound that NO OTHER BAND has produced! That concept and depth of sound has not been matched to date. Thank you sir for your contribution to the craft that humans cannot survive without--music.

I absolutely agree. I wish this new flag corps would get back to this level. If they cannot, they just need to do away with that auxiliary completely! This is the "100" that I know and LOVE

I had the privelage of being present at this performance. It was a day that I will never forget. This is the best that I've ever heard a band live. I'm a Morris Brown Marching Wolverine for life, but we all owe a great debt of gratitude to Dr. Foster. Thanks Doc and may you rest in God's peace.

I agree with most of your comment. I must note that Conrad Hutchinson Jr., the great Grambling director from 1952-1990, had a style unlike any of the other HBCUs--a unique identity that Grambling has unfortunately strayed from....

I remember this. This was in the dome vs us (SCSU) in 96. This was our 2nd time seeing the 100 this year (first time in Charleston). These used to be some classic battles with the Sarjeant vs Sarjeant in their arrangements for both bands.

I never understood the flags or auxiliary for FAMU. They always kind of did their own thing in groups.

The only Auxiliary in the Marching 100 is the Flag Corp.

Thanks for clarifying. The flags always confused me. The movements are choppy and at times not choreographed correctly in my opinion.

@@taureanlivermore4380 Well, FAMU's flag corp has more or a militaristic style instead of your traditional HBCU flag corp. They snap the flag instead of twirl and the poles are heavier and longer. Plus, the squad is unisex which mostly consist of young men. They do alot of pushups and conditioning to be able to snap them flags.
