What most people don't realise is they are not afforded the "freedom" to voice out anything, even the way they breathe is decided by most companies, they have full monopoly. So even if some groups already know their vocals are abysmal I doubt they can do much unless the company chooses to focus on it. Not to mention lookism is so prevalent there. It's too bad, but it's getting worse with each gen.

That's the problem with lookism and when most companies have full monopoly of their idols' every move and even dictate how they should breathe. Many of the new gen are good dancers but can't hold a note to save anyone's lives. It's a shame because as you said, many are mediocre, and it's not like there's a lack of talent, it's because companies know looks sell and they don't bother giving many of the new groups vocal lessons.
