Mike Wolf brings 38 years of HVAC industry expertise, spanning engineering, sales, marketing, software development, and management. A licensed Professional Engineer with a degree from the University of Wisconsin, he began his career as an Application Engineer at Greenheck. As the current Chairman of AMCA International's Board of Directors, Mike shapes industry policies and standards through collaboration with key organizations including ASHRAE, AMCA, AHRI, HVI, DOE, and ISO. His leadership extends to past board positions with HVI and committee roles with AHRI and ASHRAE. Notably, he served as a U.S. Secretary of Energy appointee on the DOE's Appliance Standards and Rulemaking Federal Advisory Committee.
Mike's comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems-from technical engineering to policy development-continues to advance industry standards and practices. His work focuses on developing crucial HVAC-related policies, regulations, codes, and performance standards that guide the industry's evolution.
HVAC Fan systems account for approximately 2% of U.S. energy consumption, prompting ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC to implement FEI-based efficiency standards projected to reduce fan energy use. This seminar provides practical guidance on FEI application and compliance.
Topics covered:
FEI as a tool for optimizing fan selection
Best practices for integrating FEI into project specifications and equipment schedules
Minimum code requirements and compliance standards for FEI
Utility incentive opportunities through FEI compliance
Designed for mechanical engineers and designers who need to effectively specify, schedule, and document fan selections while ensuring code compliance.
