Maybe I don't pay close attention to other videos but I don't normally see Leo excited to do anything Kamp related so it was cool to see him excited to interact with some animals and hold the camera. Definitely let that kid do an entire filming of an episode one of these days. Awesome FAQ episode! 😎

@@justinluke7210 I don’t doubt that at all.. Kenan seems to be a great guy with all kinds of love for the little ones. Probably wasn’t the best word choice to communicate what I was thinking.. I was just meaning that the boy seems to be mature for his age and interested (which is a lot of the battle!!).. and if given the chance to film he may do a great job! Kenan may have just been in a hurry or he may even have wanted it a specific way this time.. as he was focused on the questions. Sometimes the littles have a way of growing up right under our eyes and before ya know it they aren’t that little boy struggling to hold the camera still anymore that’s all 😊.

Great episode! The ability to ask questions "in person" without relying on our interpretation of commercial guides is invaluable. Regarding the black throat's smell, I've had a similar smell in my enclosures, but it turned out to be the contents of the enclosures (substrate, etc) themselves putting off that sweet smell just by being heated up by the basking lamps!

Love how involved the kids are. It's so important for kids to have a dog plus the reptiles give them some extra knowledge which we all know that you can never have too much of! Hope that you're getting Lobo some training for doing a little bit of guard duty. This doesn't always come naturally to dogs. But either way he's gonna be a great addition to Kamp Kenan!👍💯✌🇨🇦🇺🇦🐢🦎🐊🐍🐕

I've experienced that syrup smell before with a reptile, it was with a beardie. I'm not sure what it is that causes it, but it is a distinct maple syrup smell. She was a healthy girl, lived 9 years. Egg binding caused her to pass on. I miss her dearly.

Baby Albino Sulcatas go for around $1500-2000 right now and adults go for about triple or more than what Kenan mentioned haha. They are definitely an investment animal at this point but within a couple years the price will come down for sure. Albino sulcatas are awesome!
@haydendebarros12542 жыл бұрын
I suspect the Syrup smell is likely a product of blackthroats being kept inside. I have a house snake and I've always noticed his musk smells almost like lemony chocolate if that makes any sense 🤣 So maybe something similar is happening with the monitors.

I am currently in the process of pitching a study that I did recently to my high school principal. It’s about why our school should get a Burmese Star Tortoise and how it will benefit everyone while providing IT with a happy life. I already have the rest of the faculty on board with many of them wanting to house the animal in their rooms. 😂 The only one I haven’t spoken with is the head principal, so if she says yes then I will be so happy
@davidvento54812 жыл бұрын
Prices of chelonians have risen exponentially in recent years. Nearly twenty years ago I purchased 2 Star Tortoise hatchlings for $450. (each). Also, almost 9 years ago my Marginated & Blonde Leopard Tortoise hatchlings were $375. & $350. and my hatchling Spotted Turtles were $150. each. Now almost all species are three to four times as expensive. They were all acquired between 4 - 6 weeks of age from a reputable breeder. Although most hatchings are sold via mail order I prefer observing all potential purchases for a while to make sure they’re eating and behaving normally.

From my experience turtles and tortoises smell like dirt or close to wet dirt unless it has been a couple of days after they ate something because in that case they won't smell, they stink like the thing they ate but rotten.

Dang those kids are doing great with you Kenan, best stepdad ever, I wish I had that with my step kids, but their mom was/is abusive and so associate me with her, I’m trying to show by example not every older woman in a mothering position is like her, it’s tough though, they sure can be hurtful and untrusting Love that Chinese bark back box turtle!!
