I have a 83 Chevy c10 and take it from me it is super hard to do a differential. U should go with a electrical fan

Do what everyone is telling you, electric fans, only thing put the thermal switch in the block or head. there can be a big difference in temp. from intake to heads or block!!! it is very easy to put a relay in to turn fans off and on at the right temp.

You can trim your shroud or use a little heat and bend it a little bit to clear the fan

cody Kesler not when your radiator is 5-6 inches off set, fix a problem with a problem and you get 2 problems. A new set of custom made rubber radiator supports could be used to clamp that radiator down and centered

fuck the fan shroud just get a cheap electric fan off ebay and be done with it, wire it to a flip switch in the dash and just turn it on everytime you drive the car ive done that before works fine.

bdan 1324 and what keeps his flesh from contact with the fan when he’s under the hood while it’s running? The shroud does, so the top half is mandatory, which means the radiator must be centered like it’s supposed to be, it also keeps wrenches, bolts , nuts , washers , screw drivers, Allen wrenches , long hair , the little strings on your hoody , etc out of the moving parts, you can also put all the above on the shroud like a work bench while wrenching

bdan 1324 and what about the rest of the pulleys and belts spinning around, have you ever accidentally dropped something and had it hit moving parts? You’ll shoot yer eye out bud! Remember he could figure out how to get a properly centered radiator and poof, no more shroud issues! I think he’s more concerned about being a youtube sensation than figuring issues out himself.

Get a junk yard electric fan off a new model v8 truck & $25 wiring kit with thermal sensor. All probs solved and some added HP. I use fan from 2000 model dodge neons on all my v8's they are cheap and simple to wire in even using my a/c when its 115 in Texas

TejasToolMan it’s almost that hot during summer where I live. My daily driver is a 83 k20 with a built 486. I run just the top shroud with a belt fan, no over heating problems. If I built my truck with parts off a f ing neon I would be ridiculed for that severely, it’s just stupid. So from what your saying the cfm requirements for a dodge neon are the same as a mildly built small block? Ok , it might work but again it’s a stupid move just like buying a universal radiator. The radiator should be centered , if that means selling it and buying a 4 core that is meant for a square body. I’m the only one on here telling him how to properly fix this issue , electric fan or not.

TejasToolMan he’s asking for some help on this, he needs that top shroud at the least. To pull that off he needs to CENTER the rad. The truck he’s building is not a junk yard put together, he’s going for something a bit more than that. I don’t pay his bills but did you hear what he said about the 10 bolt, he would rather give someone the cash and be done with it. He has some money to get it right but only if he wants it. So does the neon have the same cfm ratings as a mildly built small block 🤔
