i think i disagree. ma long vs fan zhendong in 2017 - 2020 period wouldve been the ultimate clashes between the titans. dont get me wrong, wang chuqin vs fan zhendong is also really good and probably as close a level as anyone can get

Some people think Fan made a lot of unforced errors. The thing they don't realise is Fan played with full power for most shots otherwise Wang would be able to count back. This kind of power shots are not required for most other players so in those matches, you see Fan playing a lot of control games and safer shots even trying out some new serves. More power is more lethal but comes with a smaller margin for error. That's why the error rate appears high.

That's completely true. Ping pong match is a probability game, you have to take risks (but not excessive risks) to trade off safety for attacking quality and the level of risk obviously needs to vary cross different opponents.

Seems physically exhausting as well. Seemed like Fan was less aggressive in the sixth after 2 huge games.

Yeah one of the reason ML lost to him, his power currently was no match. Everything was returned back. ML game has been converted more towards tactical than just long powerful rallies.

There's no doubt that we'll see these guys at a lot of finals in the future tournaments in the coming years. The gap between the two is obviously very minute right now, which means there will be many close matches as well. This rivalry is just beginning.

I think Fan Zhendong usually won against Wang Chuqin but I agree the gap between these two is narrowing. The way they are competing is like a chess match.

Can't believe Wang ACTUALLY made it to this level within such short period of time. Two or three years ago he was just another "promising rising star" of Chinese national team and now he's standing at top of the world. Though Fan got the match this time (a very close one), it's hard to say who would take the next one in upcoming tournaments.

@fezhximi185 Thanks for your feedback. Xiao Zhang has been coaching Zhang Jk, Liu Shiwen, Wang MY etc those world champions, until WAN left Xiao then LGL got the plan to develop WCQ.

Holy, I guess these two will definitely take TT to a new level in the coming years. I am always surprised to see comments comparing Chinese players to robots. Come on guys, Fang Zhendong has a phenomenal feeling of the ball, Ma Long has a second to none game IQ. Wang Chuqin can surpass both of them if his health permits. Let's just enjoy their game.

he has a coach, who LGL specially designate to be Wangs full coach. one on one since last year. the coach used to coach Zhang JK then Wang manyu. now Wang. This is the main reason. This is LGLs plan.

And now Ma Beat fzd at asian Championshops and Wang Beat fzd at asian Games. Also Wang cq lost to a japanese Player. The decision between two of the three for Singles will be very Close. If they decide who is the best against foreigners, Ma Long should be the one.

The new WTT ranking list of week 28 has been published. FAN Zhendong goes up to be World #1, Wang Chuqin goes to #2, Ma Long is #3.

It seems to me that Chinese players have a different mental approach. They can control their emotions better, they don't show as much nerves as most European players, who sometimes even throw the paddle. Despite such a tight ending, both players behave calmly and respectfully after the game is over.

Former CNT tier 1 player Chen Qi got punished with half a year game suspension and working as a farm labour including pig feeding in a small village, all because he threw his racket after losing a game. The world no.1 WCQ, the player you see in this game, got suspended for around 4 months because of the same reason, throwing rackets after losing to Zhao Zihao in a game. There is something called team discipline.

FZD entered God mode in the 4th and 5th game - unstoppable beast. WCQ really had an uphill battle because FZD is such a lucky player, so many net and edge points. And yet, it may be well earned because his shots are always so low and closely bordering the edges. Also as a lefty WCQ mostly serves and plays to FZD's strong backhand. Insane fight, thanks to both players

Sí, es un poco aburrido cuando hay un partido y sabes quién va a ganar de antemano. Jóvenes con reflejos y explosividad como Wang Chuqin y otros con creatividad (Alexis o Truls) van a ser los jugadores a batir en unos años. Hoy en día, o eres una máquina como Wang Chuqin o tienes algo que te diferencia de los demás, si no, vas al montón de los jugadores muy buenos pero no excepcionales.

After 2-1 down Fan stopped caring too much and played fearlessly. luck favors the brave and he came out victorious. But consistency and power of WCQ is scary. only Fan can beat him right now. great match👏👏👏

LJK also could. That’s why he disappeared from singles. In the past years, the Chinese team tried everything to push WCQ to the top, and that’s where FZD’s low time last year came from. Then LJK. And his more and more radiculous wrong serves ignored by the judging system because Liu Giuliang controls the money of ITTF.

Retrouver en Finale les actuels numéro 1 et numéro 2 mondiaux ? Normal. Une finale très serrée ? Normal aussi, les 2 joueurs ont un niveau de jeu équivalent désormais, et à mon avis ils se croiseront entre les places 1 et 2 mondiales pendant quelques mois encore...

@@AbdulRehman-xx9vj Currently located in Germany. There used to be a commercial broadcaster but since beginning of 2023 I believe all WTT events (also finals) can be streamed on KZbin for free. I suppose WTT has to grow the market and brand first before they will try again with commercial broadcast

Even they play insanely fast, matches are not as enjoyable as in the past, remember ML vs ZJK in 2011, and compare this, average rally is around 3 hits now.

katılıyorum abi eskiden kontrol ve spin çok daha önemliydi şimdi killer loop'lar üzerine kurulu robotik bir oyun var. elbette böylesi de çok zevkli böylesi de stratejik olarak büyük derinlik gerektiriyor ama öbür türlüsü daha zevkliydi ya. bunun da sebebi aslında eskisinden bile daha büyük bir çin hegemonyası olmasıydı. eskiden samsonov, waldner, boll, schlager gibi sporcular oyunu kendine has bir tarzla oynuyordu. kendi stilleriyle kendi yorumlarıyla kendi teknikleriyle oyunu baştan yazıyorlardı. hepsi şahsına münhasır bir tarzla oynardı. şimdi çinlilerin robotik oyununu daha çok seyrediyoruz.
