I’m using it for the dirt racing in Iracing, works sweet as. Button placement is mint. That’s the bonus of having 5 different wheel settings on 1 wheel.

Personally I use the rotary switches on my Formula v2 in F1 for Fuel mode and ERS mode.

I got a club sport wheelbase for Christmas... I wanted the McLaren V2 but didn't want to wait so I bought a $400 club sport rim. Just ordered my way too two days ago and now I'm waiting. Great video

I use the right rotary switch for RF2 menus basically and the left one usually for boost or tc, depends on the car.

The Rotarys are made for TC and ABS. ACC supports it very well. Just set them on the OLED to CONSTANT.

In ACC my rotary are for TC and ABS. Rockers are engine map and brake bias.

Awesome, had the exact same scenario. :D Ordered, waited, waited, got canceled. Instead got the Formula V2 for the exact same price as the canceled McLaren Wheel which is great..BUT I really wanted that 300mm diameter + exactly this McLaren GT3 Wheel (fanboy). Just ordered it yesterday + QR adapter. Now I'm glad I "missed" it before and didn't buy a 2nd hand one. :)

Some reviews have mention some flex in the wheel, then suggested the buying the extra fanatec quick release mechanism. What are your thoughts on this? Getting a csl elite anyday now.

@@steveworrell And rotary switches are a must in ACC. Set them to "constant" in Fanatec control panel: profit. No more increments, but fixed position/value of TC and ABS (and engine map or whatever on the third one). By the way, yes yes yes to proper rally wheel. They missed the opportunity there with not including push-pull shifter on the WRC one.

Have mine in a month I guess. I have a Formula V2. All the buttons are great in theory, but actually kinda get lost.

The V2 is a bit of an ergonomic mess as it is too small, so using the rotaries and mutipos switches becomes a bit of a faff. I sold mine and have enjoyed the Formula Carbon using rotaries on a button box more. However, this rim at 30cm is perfect.

@@Kefuddle agree. The thumb wheels are too weak. I mapped them on ACC, but always bump them. I will probably keep my V2, but selling it is also possible.

@@racer14glr91 You can get a good price still by the looks of eBay. I have my GT3 V2 already. I bought the Forumla V2 after sending back the GT3 V1 two years ago because of so many issues with it. Hoping the GT3 V2 is everything I hoped for back then :) Have a great Christmas.

Nice vid. Not a fan of the dull click of the paddles. I prefer magnetic paddles which give a positive click although it drives the Mr's mad but I love it.

How have you found the quick release on the CSL base? Any lateral flex? I’m unsure whether to purchase the club sport QR as well.

None at all. I also have the WRC wheel with the same system and have had no issues.

Warning! All these KZbin videos are great and interesting. The one thing they don’t do is inform you what their products are like to live with over a period of time. If you wish to have a happy and content life please take my advise and look at the FANATEC’s own Forum in regards to all the issues they have and their terrible customer service. I have one word to the question should you purchase FANATEC products? DONT. I would have had the same amount of problems with a real race car.. On a lighter note Im very grateful FANATEC do not build motor vehicles.

Hi mate. No I don't think so. If you aren't swapping wheels out every five minutes it's not really that important. Actually, even if you are the new quick release system works really well I have had the wheel on and off quite a bit.

I just ordered this wheel for my CSL Elite wheel base. Question for you. Can you also use the quick release mount on the original CSL elite wheel?

I just checked. I can't see an easy way to do it. Not saying it's impossible but to me it looks like a tough job.

Sorry not sure I phrased that correctly. I just means is there a way to use quick release on both wheels? So you can easily switch between the two? I’m guessing the original CSL wheel has to be bolted on but wonder if there is something you can add to it to make it quick release as well? By the way thanks for responding!

Hi Jose. Personally I drive a lot more GT cars than formula cars. For that reason I would go with the McLaren wheel. It is perfectly fine for formula cars too and has a ton of great features. Both are good, you won't be disappointed with the McLaren wheel.

It's for a Fanatec wheel base and whilst nothing is impossible, it's not designed to fit a Logitech hub.

Tested the wheel today, much less detail in the wheel compaired to my f1 esports wheel. Wheelbase is a csw 2.5. Almost feel like half a boner, sorry for the description..is the add-on quick release going to add more feel into the wheel? Is an extra 100 bucks..

The only thing I don't like about this wheel coming out is how much it hurts the resale on the Formula Carbon wheels people like myself paid $300+ for when the Mclaren wasn't around and going for $500+ on Ebay for a used one. If you couldn't buy the Mclaren you bought the Carbon Fiber Formula wheel, but now these are going to be around for $200 new it's gonna make getting some of the money back on the Formula wheel. Mine is only 8 months old and used with suede gloves only so it looks same as new but with this wheel around I'll be lucky to get $200 out of it.. I like the wheel don't get me wrong it's what I wanted when I moved over to Fanatec after selling off my heavily modified T300 with TS-PC guts, it's just now I feel like it greatly devalues the other formula style wheel rims. O yeah, the 3 rotary switches: Engine Map, ABS Pulse strength, TC Presets, TC cut strength etc etc etc..
