Firstly. I don't do sim racing. At near 63 year of age, I just don't have the eye/hand response time to compete in it. I really enjoy Coyote Racing videos. This was, in my opinion, a good and honest review. Corey did not let the fact that Fanatec gave him this wheel for free and that did not influence his review. That says a lot about how much confidence Fanatec has in there product and that Corey will give an honest review. Also, that the review will be favorable. Lastly.. 355 views and I'm the 11th to comment. Before I even looked at the numbers of views/posts. I was expecting at least 30 posts by now. 11 comments that took time to write to Coyote Racing from devoted followers. I almost took half an hour to get my words right as not to offend anyone.

Just got the Clubsport V2.5 wheelbase and the Formula V2 wheel, it's just awsome, I seriously thought about buying the McLaren wheel, but the quality of the McLaren wheel made my decision easy xD

This is a funny wheel....it's from the CSL line, which as you mentioned is entry level, however every top sim youtuber uses it. Kinda funny. I personally hated my Formula v2, it's too small and the alcantara is annoying since you have to wear gloves.

Corey, check out the Esport Formula wheel when you can. It fits in perfectly in between that McLaren wheel and the Clubsport Formula wheel. Its just 70 Euros more than the McLaren. Its beautiful. Fewer buttons and dials/knobs than the McLaren but build quality is better. I managed to map all the actions/function I need onto the limited number of buttons for ACC. Anything I can't put onto buttons, I'll access it via the menus in the middle of the race.

I use V1 on a DD, and TBH... it stills feels plastic-isch but it is by far my favorite wheel in my line-up.

Yeah. You can feel it and hear it popping and cracking. Its horrible. The shape is great and overall It’s great wheel for a CSL or even a CSW. For a DD it’s a bit sketchy after awhile of use. It’s unbelievable Fanatec hasn’t released a decent Podium GT3 wheel. I’m not talking about that BMW wheel that 99% of people won’t be willing to buy for one reason or another. I dont know what it’s gonna cost but if you pay over $1500 for a wheel it better have a DDU built in. That’s why I sold my DD2 and got a SC2 Pro this last month. Fanatec has to many products stacks. Adios Fanatec.

I bought this wheel new in February 2021 and played around 500 hours with. The upshifter doesn’t shift or shifts twice instead of once sometimes since a few days ( for example I am in second gear and want to upshift to third and what happened is that either it stays in 2 or it shifts the fourth gear ). Don’t misunderstand me, I like the Fanatec stuff and the feel of this wheel even if sometimes it crakles ( it’s normal like it’s made of plastic and a lot of force is applied on it ) but this is a problem that I’m not the only one to encounter so it’s well known. After discussion to find a way to solve the problem ( in fact it’s a contact problem between the shifter and the switch ) Fanatec accepts me to return the wheel and refound me like it’s still under warranty. I doubt the wheels that are currently sold have the problem solved, if it was the case, Fanatec should have proposed me a replacement. So what I do is to buy the same wheel but to Simracingmachine who modify the wheel with 2 independent magnetic shifters ( not a fan of this solidary shifters). It’s more expensive, with custom, shipping and change it’s 465 € but i think it’s the necessary upgrade and the price to pay for a wheel worthy of the name. At this time I have just ordered my wheel to SRM and will edit my message if I’m not satisfied.
