This is just the video I was searching for...I am an 75 Kg intermediate - make 99% of jibes and just starting to make about 50% of toe side tacks on foil. I am currently riding the Aero Free 1250/250 with the AL3.0 90/68 mast fuse and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I am mostly riding swell in 18 - 22 kt winds in SF Bay but not waves - although I want to take some trips to visit wave locations (Peru, Maui, etc) soon. Going to upgrade to the 90/68 carbon mast/fuse. I am looking for some more speed/glide from the foil to help me extend swell rides and was thinking about going down to the Aero Free 1000/216 but now also considering the Aero Glide 905/180. Which would you choose? Since you said you would replace the Aero Free 1000 with the Glide 905 I guess that is your answer? One thing that does make me a bit nervous though is I do currently pump the board to get up on the 1250 in lighter winds...guess that would not work with the 905 Glide.

Exactly you need to pump the hand wing rather than board. If you want low end of the free 1250 then get the Glide 1085 it’s a great light wind foil and still turns good on the 60 fuse with 180 tail 😀

@@pastyadventures the wind here is typically 18 to 24 kts and I'm typically on a 4.0m Ozone Wasp (60%) a 5.0 m (30%) and occasionally on a 6.0m or 3.0m. It is often light on the inside before getting out to the wind line, but overall since this is the wind speed and I am riding almost 100% swell (waves in future) it sounds like for now I get the glide 905 and keep the Aero Free 1250 for lighter winds. So one more thing, you like the 60 fuse over the 68....what was the reason for that again?
Hi @mikecapuano8010, I am in the same boat now as you were... :) I was thinking of getting the Aero 1000 as well and then I thought maybe the Glide 1085 is the next Foil down for stronger winds in addition to my 1250 Aero free (which is a great foil already). Sounds like for stronger winds it's better to get the 905 rather than the Aero 1000... I am looking for a foil to help me glide better in wavier conditions...

@@uweweinkauf3603 Yes you are definitely in the same boat 🙂. I demoed both of them and did not notice enough of a difference between the Aero 1250 and the 1000 but I did notice a difference and better glide with the Aero Glide 905 so that is what I ended up buying. You should definitely demo both and you are welcome to try my glide 905 out any time either in the Bay Area or Maui.

Nice video Lee. Hey what size board is that? I’m on a 5’4 87L and I struggle with the Aero 1000 with the 216 tail. Had to use a 300 tail and love it. Was so pitchy otherwise. I’m 75kg. Heard smaller boards solve the pitch problem. That true?
@pastyadventures Жыл бұрын
Ha no small boards don’t solve pitch but once you get better you will be able use a smaller tail 😀

Hi Lee , would the Aeroglide 1085 work fine with the 216 tail? I'm not an expert like you but am wanting more glide than I get from my Free 1250. Im light and have been using the 1250 as my light wind foil Cheers, Simon

Yes it will work but won’t be as fast or as much glide as with the fanatic gl now Duotone p tail. I actually use it with the 180 to get more speed and glide. You can also use the 180 on the Free 1250 which speeds it up quite a bit and thus more glide. Smaller tail makes it more twitchy mind

That's a great idea, I'll give that a go! Thanks!!@@pastyadventures

Nice one Lee, just for reference what is the position of your mast, forward, mid or back?
@pastyadventures Жыл бұрын
Mast is 1 finger from front of box with 60 fuse and small tail. Move back 1 cm for 68 fuse
