I think Sandhagen can beat Merab honestly. I predicted Merab smashing O’Malley and I think a Sandhagen vs Merab fight would be very compelling. Sandhagen has underrated grappling and he’s also a sniper. After fighting Umar I thought Sandhagen did better than an O’Malley could ever do when it came to defending the chain wrestling.

Unfortunately they did sandhagen wrong by not giving him a title shot, repeatedly. UFC are always going to screw Sandhagen...He should change organizations. But, Figuereido is about to get a title shot whether or not its after Umar, there is no reason or motivation for him to fight a dangerous opponent as Sandhagen. Sandhagen was very brave and even wreckless to fight Umar, and the UFC is not going to reward him for that. No one wants to fight Sandhagen, except Umar who already beat him...but Sanhagen is a path to nothing after losing to Umar. Feel bad for Sandhagen, but staying with UFC he is screwed, despite having the skills of a UFC champion.

Tim is too classy of a guy to say it but we didn't see the real Sean O'Malley in there. We don't make excuses but Sean came into the fight with a torn labrum, dislocated shoulder, had a bad weight cut, and was fighting an opponent known for his EPO usage.
