sam claflin and daniel sharman are two of my favourite actors of all time... i've never considered either of them for the roles of gideon and gabriel, but it's PERFECT omg (i did see someone cast daniel as will before, which i'm not entirely opposed to, but he works so well as gabriel)

I 100% agree with every casting! You guys really pinned down the reasons why some of the other fancasts don't quite fit the characters and you've obviously put so much thought into what the book says about each character. Totally agree with you about Will and the casting of Kaya Scodelario as Tessa. She fits Tessa way better than so many other fan-castings. Also Dom Gleeson as Henry I can totally see! Also, your reasoning for Jem is perfect. I feel like his beauty is really overlooked, especially seeing as Tess and Will are both described as really beautiful and they are the characters he is placed beside lots. Will is often described as 'pretty', and Sophie remarks that Jem is just as good looking as Will, and like you say, is described as angelic by Tessa and Camille, but because of his illness as well as his personality, people don't remark on it as much. I agree that Arron Bernards would play this really well and looks completely the part.

I appreciate the thought and attention to detail that went into this. I'm still fond of certain ones that have been around for years like Douglas as Will and Adelaide as Tessa and Jenna as Charlotte, but I've recently been considering others more closer to their physical descriptions. I really love Kaya as Tessa, after someone mentioned it right after I read CHOG and also watching a little of Spinning Out. I like the original cover model of Clockwork Princess for Tessa as well, but my earliest Tessa was definitely Sarah Bolger, after Cassandra Clare admitted that was who she pictured as Tessa. The perfect Henry, I never had a Henry, and Jessamine works better than I thought, Lily James has a real English rose quality to her. I also like Aaron Taylor Johnson, and for older!Will Henry Cavill like in the Enola Holmes Netflix trailer has been circulating around and I like him for TLH era. Cecily is perfect. I love Alexandra Daddario, she has a very Herondale look to her. I dislike the standard fancast for her, that girl from that old Freeform show about teen pregnancy? And Sophie is perfect! I like Anna, but I also pictured Lucy Hale hazily, mostly bc of the hazel eyes, and they have a similar intense prettiness that I imagine Sophie has. And Jem, I never had a Jem that felt right, but I'm satisfied with yours. I'm just glad people have (mostly) stopped that one guy blonde guy from Skins and various K-Pop celebrities.

I feel like because the books have been out for so long there are certain people that have stuck around like Douglas and Adelaide etc, but we wanted to try and match them as close to their descriptions like you said - and as for Jenna, well, there really isn't anyone else for Charlotte is there!! I didn't know about Cassie saying about Sarah Bolger that's really interesting! But yes Kaya is just perfect in my opinion for Tess! Lily James as Jessamine was rogue but I think it kinda works - especially blonde!! And honestly Henry Cavill as older Will is FLAWLESS (and I think it also works well with using Aaron Johnson as younger Will as well, they are quite similar looking) - Jem was probably one of the ones that I was most in support of, I just love Aaron Bernards and the fact that he has been used twice on covers shows that Cassie likes him as well! Also i'm so happy people have stopped using Maxie from Skins as Jem because that used to make me so confused ?? Like what on earth ? But Aaron Bernards as Jem has my heart x

Hello! I really enjoyed your video, though a lot of you casting differs from my own. I will put mine below and explain the different reasons for this actors. Tessa Gray - Astrid Berger-Frisbey I feel like there's almost something ageless about Astrid and I actually do love her eyes and they were probably the first thing I noticed about her. Will Herondale - Jonah Hauer King This guy was a new discovery for me but I feel like he just looks a lot like Will, the only thing missing is the blue eyes. Jem Carstairs - Justin H. Min I had a lot of trouble finding a Jem and after a lot of research I just stopped on the Umbrella Academy guy. I think it might also be because of my soft spot for Ben Hargreeves but I find him quite handsome. Sophie Collins - Felicity Jones I always saw Felicity as Sophie. I find her incredibly pretty and she has this intelligence and fierceness that I find Sophie has too, and she could totally pull that scar of. Charlotte Branwell - Gemma Arterton/Jenna Coleman (I can't choose between the two) I have a hard time choosing between the pair, I think they are both brilliant actresses and could both easily pull of the role of Charlotte. Henry Branwell - Eddie Redmayne Eddie is another one that I just always saw in this role, plus I find that him playing Newt in Fantastic Beasts would kind of made my love for him grow. Jessamine Lovelace - Claire Holt I love Claire in the Originals and her character is a bit b*tchy and I feel like that fits Jessamine the only thing is that she has blue eyes instead of brown Gabriel Lightwood - Daniel Sharman Gideon Lightwood - Sam Claflin Cecily Herondale - Kaya Scodelario We seem to be in agreement with the Lightwood brothers and Cecily, so that's cool. Anyways, this was a really nice video! I would love to see your castings for TLH, TMI and TDA as well as like all the minor characters! I hope this huge comment isn't offensive or annoying.
