I have been keeping Fantail pigeons (Lakhay Kabootar) along with other fancy pigeon breeds for over 20 years. There are many things that I have learned about pigeons' breeding, sale, and purchase over these years. One of the greatest challenges that I faced was buying quality birds and determining their price.
So in this video, I have discussed the price range of multiple types of fantail pigeons, how these breeds are physically different, what are their average prices in Pakistan and what you need to look for when choosing a bird.

3. What is the price of Indian Fantail pigeons in Pakistan? and how to identify Indian Fantails?
The average price of a good quality white Indian Fantails pair in Pakistan is 3000-4000 PKR but if you are looking for an exceptional quality pair, its price can be 10000-15000 PKR.
Their identification is simple, Indian Fantails have a crest, foot feathers, and roughly 30 feathers in the tail. Indian fantails' tail does not touch their head but it is a bit close to their head.
4. What is the price of English Fantail pigeons in Pakistan? and how to identify English Fantails?
The price of a good quality white English Fantails pair in Pakistan is 4000-4000 PKR. But if the pair is exceptionally pure, it will cost around 8000-10000.
English Fantails have a heavy tail, they do not have crest and foot feathers. Moreover, their tail touches their head. Typically English Fantails have 30-35 feathers in their tail.
5. What is the price of American Fantail pigeons in Pakistan? and how to identify American Fantails?
The price of a good quality white American Fantail pigeon pair in Pakistan is almost 20000-25000 PKR. But if you are looking to buy a high-quality pair, its price is around 50000 PKR.
American Fantails are similar to Indian Fantails, they have a crest, a heavy tail, and foot-feathers. But American Fantails are huge in size; their body structure is almost the size of a King pigeon or Trumpeter pigeon.
Another important factor is their heavy tail, American Fantails have almost 40+ feathers in the tail. Just like Indian Fantails, the tail of American Fantails does not touch their head.
6. What factors should I consider if I am going to buy my first Fantails pair?
If you are going to buy a Fantail pigeons pair, make sure it is
A pure breed bird.
Its price is according to quality.
The bird does not have any kind of sickness like minor paralysis, flu, fever, or weakness.
The bird is active and flies properly.
The bird does not have any kind of deformities like a missing toenail, or broken beak.
7. I am going to buy my first Fantail pigeon pair, should I buy a pure quality expensive pair?
No. If this is going to be your first pair then no, start with a medium-priced pair, preferably between 2000-3000 PKR.
8. I am going to buy my first Fantail pigeons pair, should I buy a young pair or an adult pair?
Buy an adult pair. This is important because young pigeons are sensitive to weather conditions and they easily get sick. Since this is going to be your first pair, you might not be very well experienced to treat sick pigeons. But adult pigeons are comparatively strong and they are easy to manage.
