man this could have been so good, it was soooo close, but then the player line showed up and killed the reaction for me right then and there. I never comment on stuff like that cause it's kinda pointless but man, it's probably my biggest pet peeve with reactions, you effectively makes frisk a martyr, removes any blame from them and throws it all on a invisible, undetectable, emotionless and unreasonable entity from another dimension, it completely deflates any and all tension and lowers all stakes to the bottom of the underworld. instead of a interesting character study on frisk and why they would do what they did, it just paints them as this ''uwu baby that can't do anything bad, it wasn't their fault :(" light which does a huge disservice to their character, hell i would even argue it detracts or even remove most of their character and makes them super boring and flat, nothing more than a meat robot just doing what they were told, never arguing back, never fighting against them.

You know that the player is a canon Story element right? you're the player, the person playing the game, the ending to the pacifist run has Flowey talk to you specifically, he tells you to let them have a happy ending, Even mentions to let FRISK have a happy ending. It sounds like your complaining that this Gacha-Tuber actually paid attention to the story of Undertale.

@@GHalelol9781well for one the player I s never directly named, it's at best left for interpretation. But regardless, even if I were to agree that a ''player'' exist it still wouldn't be me, because I don't exist in undertale's universe, that universe doesn't exist and I don't have any connection to it what's so ever. At best I would be ok with a fictional character called a player, sorta like what underplayer does. At least then there are actual stakes. But even *even* besides that, I genuinely don't think it makes for good reactions, if anything it ruins them by completely removing any guilt and any stakes and tossing them to characters who don't exist. Reactions don't need to be 100% faithful, that leads to shit like characters being uninterested in the reaction or just mocking it, which is like, why are you even making videos if even the characters won't take it seriously, what's at the point at that point. Sometimes you gotta disregard canon to make a good reaction, it wouldn't be fun watching sans sleep through the whole thing even if that's the "canon" interpretation. The way I see it, the whole player things just detracts from any and all reactions way more than it adds, it removes the stakes, makes frisk and chara basically worthless characters and makes them martyrs while not adding anything worthwhile to the discussion. Like instead of the characters going "man I wonder why frisk did this, did I do something wrong? Do they have issues we weren't aware of?" it just becomes "oh they were controlled by some third party we never met, can't interact with in any way and exists in a world that sees us as toys" which like, where can you even go from there? There's no drama, there is no real consequences, it just becomes a breaching mess of ''oooh man the player sure is eeeevil" thing which got tired 3 years ago. Sidenote, the blade cuts in both ways, if the player is fully responsible for the geno run then they are as well for all the other runs, meaning all the videos of frisk being considered the ones to break the barrier are all false as well. Either the player did everything or they don't exist.
