I'm pretty sure cornerstones are part fo Qlipoth's body (Qlipoth is the aeon of preservation). Basically, the IPC has 10 cornerstones of diferent kinds (like Opal, Diamond, Topaz etc.) and ten members of the IPC called the ten stonehearts have these corner stones (Aventurine has the Aventurine cornerstone and Topaz has Topaz etc. The members are nicknamed based on their cornerstone). The cornerstone can give them powers, boosting their abilities by A LOT. (Like Aventurine turned into his boss form after using it) and the cornerstone make them NEAR as powerful as emenators, they're still weaker than emenators though.
