Well almost 9 years they've been living together- Next month will be their 9 year anniversary of living together but they've known each other for at least 10 years, we know this because they were trainees for BigHit back in 2009 before auditioning to be in a group. They've mentioned it in the past but it's been a good while, the most recent time this was mentioned was back at the beginning of this year. They did an interview and were asked what their first concert was. Joon replied by saying he, Yoongi, and Hobi went to an Eminem concert together in 2009 when they were just trainees still. It was a bonding thing since all three really like Eminem. They really do have a very pure friendship and you're right, it's still an underrated ship. Look how few Namgi vids there are on here appreciating these two friends lol. like there's seriously way more vids on every other ship. Though there are a few others who are under appreciated too. I adore Namgi, such a great and pure friendship that neither of them have ever forced. We don't see them have a ton of fanservice like moments and honestly I think it's best that way. I prefer them being them. Like when Yoongi worries over Namjoon not getting to enjoy their trips for Bon Voyage because he tends to spend a lot of time translating for the others. Or when Namjoon insisted Yoongi be apart of the group they were going to be forming(when it was decided the all rap group group containing RM,Suga,Iron, Supreme Boi, and J-hope would be changed out as all but three of them decided different paths- Supreme boi became a producer for BigHit and Iron went on his own.this was in 2009-2010 before the end of 2010 when they got their first dorm and RM was confirmed the first member, Suga joined him in november of 2010 in their dorm and I think it was the next year, like jan. of 2011 when J-hope moved in), and him still saying that Yoongi writes amazing songs that inspire him. I love that they've known each other for 10 years, been living together for almost 9 and they have this close friendship and truly love and support each other. Namgi was actually the first ship pre-debut. Let us never forget how hard these two worked for ARMYs in the beginning, and continue to do so though now they have five others who work along side them just as hard. I purple you 💜

I tend to forget actual dates mixed up and that throws me off. Indeed Joon and Yoongi are like the dads of the group. I adore their friendship... I mean, I adore all of their friendships but it started with those two being the first confirmed members for the group and living together for a while. Their 9th year of living together is next month. I do think the two don't get enough recognition for their laying the groundwork for the group. Though Joon has been getting a lot more love over the last year and I'm so here for it. I hated back in the pre-debut days when he was mocked, it made me so mad. To see him now getting more love is great but I still don't think enough people understand the why. And Yoongi gets some love, but I do feel he and Jin get the least now. Jhope's been getting a lot more love and I'm all for that too. All seven of them deserve all the love in the universe, and that statement will never be untrue.
