There was a case like that here in the UK where a doctor named Ian Paterson told HUNDREDS of women that they needed surgery to prevent cancer but they never needed it at all or at least not the types he ordered. He also convinced higher ups that the type of work he does is safe and necessary which were all lies. fucking awful when you hear about things like that happening.
