ever since ive started tattooing as a hobby ive stuck to only training on my own skin (only tried practicing on artificial skin a few times, and yeah it's much different from real skin so i quit) - i wanted it to be as hardcore as it can be lol most of my tattoos don't look pro but actually i kinda like this grunge aesthetic my body turned out to be after 7+ (?) yrs of this hobby practicing, and it's great to see the progress (not only i see this but my friends and family too hehe) btw the video is so pleasant to watch, thank u! i like these tattoo pens too, they are so much more convenient and applying a tattoo feels more like you're drawing with a real pen (at least as long as its rotor); btw pencil-like sketchy lines look so cool as long as the tattoo is healed 😍

I have a question for someone that actually does tattooing. If you were to use henna ink in a tattoo gun and use it to give yourself a tattoo is it unhealthy will it hurt you and will the temporary tattoo last longer then just applying it on the skin surface.
@knownunknown76074 ай бұрын
4:09 what's important to note here is that the "pushing" and "pulling" are not in respect to your body, but in respect to the angle of your machine and the direction of motion of your hand. If you rotate the machine body around and tilt the rear end (RCA jack or battery, in a pen) away from you (so the needles move towards you when they enter the skin, and away from you when they exit) and "pull" your hand towards yourself, you're "pushing" the needles (against the needle throw), in tattooing terminology. Conversely, if you keep the machine in the same position and "push" your hand away from your body, you are "pulling" the needles. So, if your machine angle and movement are like this: \ ➡️, you're pushing. If your angle and direction are like this: / ➡️, you're pulling. \ ⬅️ is pulling, and / ⬅️ is pushing. Because you're "pushing against" or "pulling out of" the downstroke (the part of the cycle when the needle moves out of the tip). Pulling is milder on the skin because the needle's downward travel speed (relative to the stationary skin) gets reduced by the counter-motion of your hand, and pushing is rougher because the needle movement speed and the hand movement speed are added together, making the needles hit the skin quite a bit faster. Think of it like launching a cannonball with a cannon that shoots the ball at 300 fps, out of a car that's traveling at 100 fps. If you shoot forwards, the cannon ball will travel at 400 fps relative to the ground (300 + 100), but if you shoot backwards, the cannonball will only fly backwards at 200 fps (300 - 100) relative speed. In both cases, though, the cannonball (the tattoo needles) will travel away from the car (the tattoo machine) at 300 fps. There are some interesting physics principles at play in tattooing. (In this case, it's Einstein's theory of relativity. 😝)

At 7:09 you said it's important to keep the mag parallel to the skin or your would get uneven shading but could that also be a technique used to make the edges softer?
@WtfKaal7 ай бұрын
the best skins ive used were homemade, actually. Just mix corn flower (here in Brazil we call it maizena) with glycerin 1:1, be sure to blend it well so it doesnt get cracks when you flatten it (just press the mix with something smooth like a pan ou a roller). Leave it to rest for a couple hours and it will solidify while maintaining a softness very much like the real deal!
