If you don't know what to do, I want you to get on your knees, and pray this prayer with your heart: Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins, and was ressurected on the third day. I believe you came to the Earth, to pay for our sins. Thank you for dieing on the cross for my sins, in Your Name, I pray, amen. I don't know who is reading this, but if you ever fill an empty whole, which cannot be fulfilled, the only way to fulfill is by Jesus. It was first called football and the only reason why they added that nickname of soccer was when rugby was invented and they also called it football. To tell the two sports apart, they added the word association to football and added rugby to rugby football, given that’s where it was created as per history. Years later the English said sod it with this and they dropped the soccer and kept football which was its original name, while rugby dropped the word football and just kept rugby. So no, it wasn’t first called soccer, it was first called football. Lastly, A word of advice, before trying to prove a point make sure you read about it and are well informed, if you lead with emotions you’re bound to be clobbered.

I looked at the history, it’s all football. American football, Aussie rules, both come from Rugby, originally called Rugby Football as it was football rules made in town called Rugby in England. Football as we know it is called Association Football, as it is based of the unified rules of the FA. Soccer comes from it occasionally being shortened to Assoc Football.

It was widely called soccer in England until the 1960s. Association Football and Rugby Football, one was nicknamed Assoc or Assocer = Soccer the other was nicknamed Rugger = Rugby.
