Father Gabriel went off and brutally killed Dante, something i certainly didn't expect but welcomed. He assumes responsibility during that scene, where he blurs the line between mercy and cruelty, went to judge, jury and stabbing executioner badass real fast. Everyone goes on about it being Carol's fault that they are all trapped. Carol is blinded by her grief and rage. Everyone knows this. Daryl knows that she is irrational right now, but HE tells them all to go after her and they all just blindly run into a dark cave.
