UPDATED TIP: Thanks to a viewer, here's a tip that you may also want to make note of: Make sure to also wipe off the "plate" that is above where the coffee pot sits, where the coffee drips out of the machine, above the pitcher. This was SOOOOOO dirty when I cleaned it the other day because I hadn't thought about that area. I know... I know... why hadn't I thought about it? I don't know but I wanted to mention it in case you hadn't either! My "clean" light has stayed off even longer than before. I guess it really was still dirty, haha!!

I must have a different model mine does a 1 hour cleaning cycle . You should also clean the assembly the filter basket sits in I believe the instructions say it’s top rack dishwasher safe !

OH. MY. GOSH. First, I NEVER have commented on a KZbin video so this should speak for itself. Second, I have had my Ninja Coffee bar for about 5 years now. The past probably THREE years my cleaning light would not go off. I’ve spent money on “coffee pot cleaners” and I’ve actually used white vinegar before and NOTHING, so I wasn’t particularly optimistic trying again. I came across this video today and followed the steps METICULOUSLY. Waited an hour like suggested and cleaned all the parts a few times. After the hour of sitting and then letting it finish it’s cycle, the light was still on. It truly didn’t turn off until I cleaned all the parts a couple of times and flushed through. Take the time and it WILL work! 🤯

They must make several different ones. Ours is a smaller coffee maker then yours. I went back and read my manual and there’s actually a deep cleaning setting. Also, menu says to fill to half carafe with vinegar and rest of way with fresh water. Then hold clean button for five seconds. It puts it in a four hour clean cycle.

Don’t forget to wipe off the dust from your coffee grounds. They accumulate where the water actually drips into the coffee basket. So you open the coffee basket area and then wipe the drip panel above it. This is an often overlooked area for cleaning and it gets very dirty from accumulated coffee ground dust.
@Fantabulosity Жыл бұрын
Thank you for that!! Totally agree!

I've found that the best and only way to not have the clean light come back on within a few days is to fill the entire carafe with Heinze Cleaning Vinegar -- no water, just cleaning vinegar. If you do the deep clean that way, the light should stay off for at least a month, if you use your coffeemaker as much as I do. I use mine twice a day, every day. And be sure to run clean water through the machine within 15 minutes of the end of the cleaning cycle.

I honestly have found that it's following the steps exactly and the biggest is like you said do not wait to run the clean water or the whole process is negated.
@teresahouse41657 ай бұрын
Running clean water 2-3X after the initial vinegar/water step IS a key component and it must be started within 15 minutes after the vinegar has emptied from the reservoir. I always set an alarm on my phone so I am next to the pot when the cleaning cycle is finished so I can fill the reservoir with clean water. I have found this is the best chance of getting that pesky clean light from blinking.

Hi, Thanks for the video about the extra clean..I am also wondering about the other commenters information about holding the clean button for 30 seconds to put it into a 4 hour clean cycle. I wanted to suggest also grabbing a clean cloth and wiping down the area above the basket. It will be super grimy, and you will want to wipe it down way more often.. I guess some of the coffee grounds splash up when the water is entering.

I said the same thing when I called in 2018 and learned this and the tech on the phone said "Most people would complain the cycle takes 4 hours and prefer the quick clean." I have owned 2 of the Ninja Coffee Bar Systems. The first I used for 2 years, and only lost it due to a flash flood coming into my basement apartment in 2015; which ruined the entire apartment and 97% of the contents in the apartment. I have had my 2nd since then--actually bought it before I was able to move back into the apartment. I moved one year ago, still LOVE my Ninja Coffee Bar. The cleaning is simply annoying if you don't or cannot take a few minutes to clean the system. These video's make it more simple and easy to clean it. I believe the clean light comes on every 3 to 6 months dependent upon how hard the water is that you are using. I have seen or heard that you could use Distilled water in your Ninja, but I don't know if it will make a lot of difference or not as I have never done that. I do, however use water from my Brita Water filter pitcher. I think mine needs cleaning every 3 to 4 months, but the Brita really can't clear all hard water deposits. Cleaning your machine makes a difference in the flavor of your coffee, as does using the filtered water vs water directly out of the tap. To me, this makes the cleaning process very much worth doing. It's a smart machine, and what other wonderful machine do you own that actually alerts you that it needs cleaning--And then does most of the work itself?? I just noticed that you commented 10 months ago, so, I hope you bought one and you are enjoying it too!!

In the end, after the vinegar water finished cycling through, I actually ran 3 cycles of water instead of 2 ... just because☺️ I cant smell the vinegar now. It seems to have evaporated ❤️ and my first cup of coffee was wonderful!

Ok, so I know this video was posted over a year ago, but as I just recently found it while trying to make my clean light go off, I wanted to share my findings with everyone here. So the clean light on your machine is very much like the change oil light in your car. It has nothing to do with your machine being clean or dirty. It just wants you to PROPERLY do the clean cycle. Which is as follows: Empty the water tank and fill it with descaling solution (or about 15% white vinegar with water), place a cup to run the water and make sure you choose a setting for the size cup you selected. Press clean and wait until you hear it beep (sometimes it actually wont beep, but the "Classic Brew" light will go off). This next part is the part everyone misses, it's written VERY poorly in the manual. After it's finished one clean cycle, empty the cup and then do another clean cycle! Keep doing this until the water tank is COMPLETELY empty, the machine will beep 5 times. Once you've done that, thoroughly wash the water tank and fill it with regular water, and repeat the entire cycle. Run clean cycles until you have COMPLETELY emptied the water tank. It will again beep 5 times. Once you've done this, the machine knows you've finished the cycle and the clean light will go off. I tested this multiple times, the machine has no idea what you're putting in the machine, it has no idea how dirty the machine itself is. You can run plain water both times if you'd like, as long as you complete both cycles, the clean light will go off. But I do strongly recommend using the descaling solution or vinegar water, as you will notice a difference in how much coffee you're actually producing. Good luck!

Hi Lindsey! Some Ninja models can definitely be different. But it may have you run it through twice so that could be what it means??

If you add vinegar and water, start a full pot, and about halfway turn the no drip button so it pauses the brew. Let it sit for some time and restart the brew. If that doesn’t work or you don’t have that feature you could just simply unplug the machine halfway through the brew cycle to allow the vinegar water to sit inside for awhile.

Stick your finger up from the bottom of the tank. There's a spring loaded valve so you can run water and dish soap through it

@DawnAim19625 жыл бұрын
I'd imagine it is the same for all coffee makers! Left over water residue can build up and get nasty. Properly cleaning it will help it last longer and help your coffee taste better and probably most likely keep you from getting sick.

I've owned my Ninja Coffee Bar for 2 1/2 years and I've never had the problem with the clean light coming on ... this is the first time it's come on... so it's the first time I'm cleaning it 🤦♀️ I own the model that does not have a carafe .... the only issue that I'm experiencing is the basket is sticking...it takes a lot of effort to pull it open. But other than that.... after all this time this has been the best coffee maker I've ever owned. I make my hot coffee in the mornings and an iced drink in the afternoon... it's saved me a lot of money on my Starbucks budget!

The only frustrating thing I found, is that I am not able to get that small circular domed in part cleaned at the center/bottom of the reservoir which lets the water through to the basket where the coffee is, & any screws are covered in plastic, so you cannot take it apart. 😞

Thank you for this! I purchased a refurbished machine and the cleaning light was on at first use. I used a different technique and the cleaning light turned off, until I unplugged/replugged it :/ hopefully your method works for me! Side question, have you had to "babysit" your machine at all? When attempting to make a second cup of coffee, only a couple ounces would brew at a time and I had to start several cycles to get a full cup. I saw numerous online reviews of others having this issue so I'm curious if you've run across that yourself.

For the models that take an hour, you must flush after by filling with clean water and selecting the clean button within 15 minutes. If you miss the 15 minute window for flushing, it will not reset the clean light.

This makes no sense. The clean cycle on mine has 2 cycles with it. The first cycle is 1 hour. You press the button once, let it do it's thing. It automatically pauses for you for close to an hour, then it forces all the water through the last few minutes, then it beeps indicating it needs to be flushed. The second flush cycle is the one that lasts 8 minutes. Do you have an older model? Mine was purchased probably a few years ago. Clean light is still on, does not go away no matter how much vinegar I use, no matter how many times I run the clean cycles. I've also tried a descaling solution specifically for coffee makers. Clean light is still on. One thing I did notice though... After getting frustrated with this terrible device, I unplugged it, tipped it over, and out poured a bunch of water with tons of sediment that had been collecting in the top where the water comes out. It was not coming out in any kind of cycle. Guess it needed some force. Now the clean cycle is getting stuff out. So if anyone is having trouble too with their clean cycle not doing anything, try giving this machine a shake upside down. It helps if you start the clean cycle for the water to collect, then shut the power off and unplug.
@AdamB50004 жыл бұрын
Must be slightly different models. I've seen people describe their unit working differently with the clean cycle. I don't have an eight minute clean, and this 15 minute rinse out thing after is foreign to me, too. My unit has a 60 minutes clean cycle, and thanks to a comment here, I found that if I long press the clean button, it starts a 4 hour clean cycle. We'll see how that goes.
@qtgirl323 жыл бұрын
I shook mine out & had a bunch of black sediment come out of top holes 😖. Now trying the 4 hr deep clean which I have never done. I have done numerous 1 hr deep cleans and light goes on after 2-3 uses🤦🏻♀️. I just cleaned the plates and head as well. Seems like every 1/2 hour more cleaning water strains through during 4 hr clean process. Just have to be around for FLUSH light to go off because you have 15 minutes to push clean again for it to go through proper FLUSH through process. I will let you know if that will do the trick. I just need to stop seeing that annoying clean light blink!!! Also, if you use a white paper filter through clean and rinse process you can see the lime scale rocks at the bottom and the black sediment stain the filter if it’s dirty. Eww.
@qtgirl323 жыл бұрын
Well that didn’t work. Ran 4 hour deep clean x 5 in a row. I even used a 75% vinegar solution. Clean light still comes on.🤷🏻♀️ Guess I’ll have to live with clean light on. My Ninja still makes good coffee and in good time. No delays.

Why can't Ninja say the amount of vinegar? That is so annoying. I thought the pause was automatic?
@Msigw5 жыл бұрын
The other version of the bar has the built in "pause soak". So instead of 8 minutes, it takes one hour. Sucks some in right away, spits it out, then pauses on its own over the course of one hour. The light goes off, but will come back on shortly. We used to use RO water and the light never came on for 3 years. Switched to pitcher style filtered water and now it comes on all the time. I'm considering taking it apart and actually cleaning it with brushes or a sponge - because what else do we clean by splashing vinegar on and simply rinsing off? Nothing. Because it does nothing. lol. Either that, or I'll snip the wires to LED in the CLEAN button...
@nicolecourtney86884 жыл бұрын
Omg i thought i was the only one having these issues! I too have contemplated disabling the clean light 😂👏
@blueunikorn633 жыл бұрын
Instead of cutting the wires to disable the light, why not just put a decorative sticker over the light or paint it with black nail polish. You may need to replace your coffee bar every 2 years or so but hey, the light won't be much of a bother.
