this is really cute, and i love how intricate the designs are, but i just don’t like how busy everything looks. you have to remember why their designs are so basic. the animateurs have to draw and tween every single one of those little nic-nacs. like fluttershy’s butterfly crown, they would have to tween every single butterfly. that’s how good they animate. over all, it was cute, just really busy-looking.

I like some of the designs, but they're too detailed to be in the actual show, for the animation, simple characters are used so it's not gonna take the animators ages to finish an episode

Do you know old ponies? They were more detailed and it still had good animations. Simple design is just excuse for having animating easier. You can make animations with extreme detailed characters, it just take more time.
