@@user-tn8cu2nv6y broooo basic lyrics?! Hol on! As a someone who enjoys songwriting the way he ties up the verses on impossible like "maybe its the combination of those colors that left the canvas blank" is genius. The schemes on You Thought, the way he sets the atmosphere on Nu Nay with that "cup" scheme, "where will you hide the body of life standing in your way", my fav track Neighbor hood has god tier strorytelling constantly speaking in metaphors and is gutwrenching when u pay attention to the story. He also tackles in a unique perspective of someone just trying to find peace n mind his business. As a theme for the album i think Teezo was holding back on some parts just to get that camp vibe but secretly this album has some strokes of genius just buried in all the campiness.
@RyanMars-t6b Жыл бұрын
@@user-tn8cu2nv6y Its oddly kanye west like where his flows and bars are at points corny but it just works. @samuraiblack6499 Жыл бұрын
@@SolaceWhore impossible is a pretty unique song. He describes 3 situations that discouraged an artist and he said “a combination of these colors left the canvas blank” that’s a good line. In the last verse he’s talking about rockstars being too old, Teezo is almost 31, so it’s like he’s talking about what doubters have said to him. Neighborhoods’ 3 verses are from 3 different perspectives. That’s cool. On Nu Nay he says “it’s not on sight, it’s all on sights” that’s very clever wordplay for a phrase everyone says. You’d think a rapper would’ve said that before but no one has. The list goes on

The album isn't basic it's just really catchy fun pop tunes that combines rap, rock, r&b , punk and funk and what people are interpreting as bad lyricism I think is more like camp and intentional zany humor. Teezo takes so many risks on the album I honestly don't get how this is being called basic. One of the best albums this year, Teezo deserves the Yellow Flannel.
