It’s fascinating how these variations capture such a wide range of emotional response related to the text of the chorale; the organ is so suited to display the diversity of meaning without words, capturing so many nuances of both meaning and feeling

This kind of music would entice me to attend church events more often. The theme of the chorale is comforting, the Trio is cheerful and the melody of the Andante is heavenly beautiful. This incomparable masterpiece is completed with a captivating Allegro and ends with a finale that repeats the theme. Whatever Paul Fey does, it's always cleverly done!🙏

Hi Paul, having discovered your organ playing, I really appreciate the expression you put into all of your repertoire. It is a spiritual connection of true depth. You are my favourite organist! It’s so wonderful to relax watching and listening to you playing. Many years ago (I’m now 75), I was responsible as organist at an Anglican Church for 8 years, also at various non conformist churches. Nowadays, I’m blessed with your playing via You Tube. How blessed to be living in the 21st century with these opportunities to see and hear your playing.

A very nice fantasy of Psalm 42. I think it's wonderful that you are dealing with Dutch compositions. Admittedly, the Rotterdam sampleset is one of the best I've heard on your channel, apart from the Sonnenorgel, which, for understandable reasons, is distributed without the sun mixture. But Rotterdam's Laurenskerk is also a throne of European organ culture, in concerts, live streams, and especially of contemporary organ music. Keep going along this path, keep being brave, it was a pleasure to listen to it today.👋👋👋

Improvisation and organ literature, you don't turn your hand and ‘legs” around for it. I see a lot of drive in your playing and also emotion. I love your registrations, they are crisp and clear.

Hi Paul. Superb. Beautifully constructed; classic. IE - The chorale / trio beginning sections built on a fundamental leggiero with the trio emerging into a bouncy solo reed section before the Andante. The toccata and finale completely you. The allegro slowing through modulations into broad, dramatic pedals in grandioso style. A trademark.....saved to my PF folder. Currently 80 files, 10 gb.

Paul love the arrangement - the Choral opening to the delightful trio to return to the reflective mood of the andante with a beautiful use of a solo stop and then all bursts forth in the Allegro to finish, as only you can, with a thunderous chorale conclusion. Bravo young friend. p.s your penguin is still in Melbourne but the delay should not be much longer- parcels arrive from China in a week but they take 50+working days to Germany. Cheers.

Your interpretations always seem to reflect the text of the chorale; at first the soft assurance of God’s gracious care then a strident confidence followed by a peaceful reflection, etc. so the notes convey the meaning of text leading toward a powerful reassurance with full organ. Well done
