Vele malen speelde Gert zijn improvisatie over het lied 'Heer U bent mijn leven' tijdens zijn concerten. Heel vaak op verzoek van de concertorganisatie.
Bijzonder is, dat iedere nieuwe versie die hij dan speelde, weer anders was dan de vorige.
Het is telkens een improvisatie op zijn eigen liedbewerking.

It is always an improvisation on his own song arrangement.
