It depends on the Canon in quite a few versions written by what I admit and s***** writers. The board is a source of his powers. They should have just had Doctor Doom block cosmic energy you do that silver surfers instantly made powerless. He's got no storage mechanism no Cosmic battery. He's like a lamp you unplug him he hits the ground. I always thought it was a deliberate weakness that Galactus built in so he could bepower him if he had to.

This movie should have been a two parter. The first that builds up the coming of galactus and a series of heralds that they face. The second one would deal with galactus himself.

@@geraltofrivia9424 Well that can be amended. It's not really an integral part of what makes Galactus. You can change things for the sake of the plot so long as the core fundamentals of the character are nor compromised.

I felt that it should have been 2 parts as well. The first would have dealt solely with the Silver Surfer heralding the arrival of Galactus and the Fantastic Four's efforts to stop him. I would have incorporated Alicia Masters and her role in helping the Surfer tap into his humanity. The first part would have ended with the Surfer exclaiming, "It's too late. He has arrived! Behold, Galactus, Devourer of Worlds!" The second part would have dealt with the Surfer trying to reason with Galactus while the Fantastic Four, at the behest of either The Watcher or The Silver Surfer himself, attempting to find the one thing in all the universe that even Galactus fears, the Ultimate Nullifier. This would have been the first act of the movie. The second act would be the Fantastic Four, Doom, and Earth's forces trying to fend off Galactus' drones, etc. The Surfer's appeal having failed, he would take up arms against Galactus himself with the Fantastic Four, etc. before Johnny shows up with the Ultimate Nullifier and Reed forces his bargain on Galactus. Of course, i would end with Galactus' departure and the Surfer's punishment.

I had lots of issues with Fantatic Four Rise Of The Silver Surfer but the Silver Surfer was definitely not one of them, everything about him from the backstory to the calm voice to the look was spot on, his scenes were the best thing about the movie, i just wasn't happy with Galactus being a massive dark cloud. I long for the day when we finally see Silver Surfer in the MCU in his own solo movie, it would be brilliant and he deserves it.

I love how the guy kills countless worlds and the fantastic four wants to save him. He's come to kill the Earth. He's created countless disasters which undoubtedly killed people. Talk to Doom wants to strip him off his powers to save the Earth. But the fantastic four are the heroes. Realistically the writer and the producer of this completely f***** it up. If they did this right they should have had Doom save the Earth then turn around and try and conquer it. Then bargain with a very humanoid Galactus and silver surfer to free the one to stop Doom. But you know they chose to walk it it's that knew nothing about the story apology and just wrote something that made no sense .
