I think Bowtruckles are totally Hufflepuffs! They're shy and peaceful unless you cross them. Then they will fiercely defend themselves and their friends. Puffs like to be helpful without being the main event. Lock-picking is a supportive action that fits with that.

I think bowtruckles are definitely hufflepuff because they're peaceful unless you threaten them. The thin is they can pick locks but it also matters if they do it for fun or just in critical situations

I really think that the bowtruckles are actually Hufflepuffs because the description of attacking only when attacked really reminds me of badgers. Plus I think a Hufflepuff would know how to pick a lock just because. Like they'd just be looking for a new skill and say 'this looks fun'. I'm also probably biased😂🤷‍♀️

When my idea differed from Tessa and Brizzy: - Kneazle could be a Slytherin. They are cunning, suspicious of people? They don’t just trust people without a reason. - Nifflers, possibly Hufflepuff. Kind of happy go lucky?? Like they derive joy rather easily? I feel like being attracted to something small and cute or shiny is hufflepuffy? (Could also be a Slytherin???) - Bowtruckles, Hufflepuff. Because they are loyal, if you mess with those dear they will tear you apart

I would definitely argue that bowtruckles are Hufflepuffs, rather than Slytherins. Bowtruckles are always loyal to their home tree, loyalty being a very core trait of Hufflepuffs. I don't think that their ability to pick locks makes them more Slytherin, because this lock piking ability is more likely a result of their body structure and skinny limbs rather than something they would feel drawn to by nature. I might also be a bit bias towards my fellow puffs, but you know, I gotta stand up for my fellow bowtruckles.

Very interesting how when you have do decide between two houses and it's very close, it's often Hufflepuff vs Slytherin and not Gryffindor vs Slytherin, which is what you would expect more... Also, I think the Niffler doesn't act like he is on purpose. To me, he has a much more clumsy appearance and would fit into Hufflepuff.

This doesn’t go for all Phoenixes but I feel like Fawkes was a Hufflepuff. He was very helpful and loyal and he helped when someone needed it. And when Dumbledore died, Fawkes mourned for him by singing over Hogwarts. He even took a killing curse for Dumbledore to save him, so I think Fawkes is a Hufflepuff. And Phoenixes in general represent re-birth and new life which to me symbolizes like, a second chance, which is such a Hufflepuff thing in my opinion
