About RAF Coningsby:
Established in 1940: RAF Coningsby has a rich history, having been operational since World War II. Initially, it served as a bomber station, and over the decades, it has evolved into one of the most important airbases in the UK.
Home of the Typhoon: RAF Coningsby is the main operating base for the Eurofighter Typhoon, the RAF’s premier multi-role combat aircraft. These takeoffs were a testament to the Typhoon's incredible speed and agility.
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight: The base also houses the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), a unit dedicated to preserving historic aircraft, including the iconic Lancaster PA474 and Spitfires, which often take to the skies over Coningsby.
