Fantastic Lion Dance at Ibis Golf & Country Club on the 1st day of Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon, 2024.
The club has done a great job celebrating the New Year of the Dragon, food was delicious and the ambience was over-the-top. Many thanks to April and Bill Yee in helping the club to arrange everything.
All the seats were sold one month prior the event date, please make your reservation early next year!
A guest asked me what is the meaning of Lion Dance during Chinese New Year, I replied: “the Lion Dance is suppose to scare away any evil spirit in your village, or your household, they dance around throughout the village (nowadays it could be a shopping mall, a business establishment….) stopping by your front door, with loud drum playing and firework possibly, to scare away evil spirit, bring about a fresh pleasant and energetic start of the new year.
