G and C minor, minor being one of the musical scales, is what is being referred to. I don't know much about music theory, but I think those are the two most common to use in a piece? Correct me if I'm wrong. ^^;;

This is actually quite easy if you are a musican. But to catch this right away without hesitation is another level.

Every note has a letter representing it ranging from A to G. Usually you count from C to C in an octave, which is basically the range from one note of the same letter to another of the same letter. As for the chords mentioned, C minor and G minor, they follow a certain pattern by counting each key (although this becomes memorized over time) and then playing the chosen notes. In the case of these two chords, you count from the first note, let's take C as an example. That one we'll call 1. Now we have to go three steps to the right, to 4, counting each note, which leads us to Eb, and the final one, the 8 which is G. So the pattern is 1, 4, 8 for minor chords. We can simply do the same thing for the G minor chord and we'll have G, Bb and D. Major chords instead follow the pattern of 1, 5, 8. The patterns themselves are basically from counting each note as numbers in the A minor scale, which is all white keys on a piano, counting from A. The major is all whites counting from C. If you have a piano in front of you this all makes much more sense than just thinking about it in your head, but that's essentially how it works. Then you have variations of them all, and different numbers have different names such as tonic, dominant, root and more. Those I honestly don't know enough to start teaching others about, but I don't exactly expect people to read an essay on music in the comment section on KZbin either. If you know music theory well enough, as long as you are told which scale it's played in, you'll be able to at least follow along to some extent. Then the better you are, the easier it'll be. If I'm told which scale a song is in, I'll be able to follow along on a guitar. It looks way more impressive that it actually is.
