Nottingham Forest were formed in 1865 and have been playing at the City Ground since 1898. They famously got promoted from the 2nd division under Brian Clough and went on to win the first division straight away in 1978. If that wasn't impressive enough they'd then go on to win the European Cup (Champions League) back to back in 1979 and 1980. An achievement many people consider to be unmatched 👏🏼 Tough times in the 2000s and 2010s but under new ownership in 2017, a few years later they'd return to the Premier League and this season are absolutely FLYING 😲

You asked about shinty well shinty is related to hurling & and hockey, but Shinty is predominantly played in in the Highland predominantly in the West Highlands of Scotland to be more acute hurling being played in both Nothern Ireland & Republic of Ireland buy Nationalists predominantly grounds tend to be in Nationalist areas in Nothern Ireland. I once had a date with a lady from Fort William & she was a massive fan of Shinty she was as passionate about the games as I am about football. I would personally say Brian Clough is the best football manager ever followed by Ottmar Hitzfeld , Jock Stein & Rinus Michels. When are you going to visit Hamburger S.V. for a game ?. Nice one! Sippin' a beer in a pub and go to the next door stadium! One of the first football things I still remember was the final gainst HSV in 1980. Shilton performed an incredible save and the 7yo-me thought you cannot score against him at all.

Enjoyed that. What Clough and Taylor achieved at Nottingham Forest is unlikely to be repeated. They finished 3rd in the old second division in the season they won promotion. Although one or two big name signings were made (Peter Shilton and Trevor Francis), it wasn't a team full of superstars. When Clough arrived John Robertson was on the transfer list! Fun fact; starting in the 1977/78 title winning season Nottingham Forest went 42 league games unbeaten, a run which ended in the 1978/79 season. Back then the season was 42 games.

An achievement which’ll never be matched - don’t get me long Leicester’s was incredible - in Germany - Leverkusen last season (if only they didn’t lose that Europa final) but to do it over a few years was incredible 👏🏽

Great tour mate, I'm not from Nottingham. I'm originally from the place down Brian Clough way(A52) originally grew up watching dxxxy until my 6th birthday and my Grandad took me to my first Forest game. That was in 76 and I've never looked back since. Keep up the great work mate and I've always had a soft spot Dortmund (sorry) 🔴🌳🇦🇹⭐KTRFFH⭐🇦🇹

Mull Of Kintyre was number one in the charts at the time when Forest were on their path to Silverware in 1977. It's played over the PA system before every home game and EVERYONE joins in. "City Ground Oh mist rolling in from the Trent. My desire, Is always to be here, Oh City Ground......... Another favourite heard at the City Ground over the years is 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling' by the Righteous Brothers. I was at a home game when a special guest arrived pitch side - It was Bill Medley - one half of the Righteous Brothers. We belted out LTLF but he didn't join in unfortunately. The video of it is on KZbin 😎

We played Köln in the semi final of the European cup in 79. The first leg at the City Ground found us 2-0 down at half time, but stormed back to take a 3-2 lead in the second half but Köln got an equaliser in the last few minutes. We won the second leg 1-0 with a goal scored by Ian Bower. And the rest as they say is history.
