I’m sorry. The Friesians look soooo elegant the way they high step with no effort. Looks like they changed drivers but I think it was Anne Okkema that did the first two rounds up to 4 in hand and what a wonderful job he did. I must comment on the music it made me think of a Spaghetti Western, with Anne Okkema driving the horses with Clint Eastwood riding on the back. I found it very entertaining. Thank you for the excellent show. 🦋

Fresians always make me cry, they're so magical & so elegant I almost expect them to sprout wings and fly off... & I wouldn't be shocked if they did. I'm pretty sure all Pegasus illustrations/creations are based on Fresians. 😍😍 pls let me live in your stable, i shall shovel manure for no pay for life haha😂 my favorite coloring is grey dapple/-blue roan. So many ppl call it different things im always unsure but regardless my first horse ever was a blue quarter horse. I got her when i was 3 months old and my dad built a saddle (we ride western) with a car seat basically attached and I spent all day riding 😂 Friesans are so damn classy and elegant and all though ive never trained one personally or spent mucn time with them you can tell how intelligent they are in your videos. They're awesome.... Majestical would be the word id use to describe them, I think it sums them up perfectly.

SAME GIRL SAME! I just commented how i always cry and Persians are so magical and elegant that i keep expecting them to sprout wings. The one word that sums them up perfectly is majestic... theyre majestical creatures. Ive had horses my entire life and I still stop in awe when i see Fresian, they spark a visceral reaction that is indescribable. Its as if their soul speaks to your soul. Ooo! The best way i can describe it is by watching Avatar when they connect their hair to the "alien horses" hair and a connection is made where they ride by communicating through said connection. Thats what its like with Fresians, its as if ride and horse become one soul... it sounds so corny and clichè but its so true. Ive spent my entire life with horses, mainy Quarter and Thoroughbreds and hybrid Quarter Thoroughbreds and I absolutely love them but they don't touch a Fresians magic. Idk what it is. Im 31 and had NEVER even seen one until i was 15ish but she stopped me in my tracks with my jaw dropped and i instantly fell in love. They're not very common in Texas where i live because horses are mostly for ranch work but every once in a while someone at a Horse Show will have a Fresian while im there and I always have to stop to admire them. I would love to get one at some point. A Fesian, a Knabstrupper and a Gypsy Vanner are three breeds im determined to have lol

Most likely not on purpose. When horses get excited they will bring their heads up and if prevented from going forward, will sometimes avoid the bit so they can go.
@virtualselfie68993 жыл бұрын
I did not know that the Arabian horse mixed with the Friesian provided greater endurance on the marathon cart. The Friesians are already so muscular, so you would think they have that endurance. You can, however, easily see the agility and switchable qualities from the hybrid genetics. By the way: the background music is invigorating and moving. Are the horses hearing it as they drive the marathon cart? Does Rein Sr. ever drive Okkema's marathon carts, anymore? The guy in the caboose steering into the curves was really very practiced in controlling the center of gravity, so the horse pairs didn't tip over. The marathon cart driver (think his name is Anne) from Stal Okkema is a master of his trade. He did a video recently explaining how he finagles all the loops through which all the reigns go through. He is also the father of one of the Okkema trainers, maybe her name was Annie as his name is spelled Anne. Love how all the Dutch horse people share their love of the superior lineage of Friesians and also the hybrid Arab mixes. Made my day! Thank you, Yvonne, Friesian Stables and Stal Okkema ooh la la.

Strength and endurance, not exactly the same thing.... But like how you're thinking!
@virtualselfie68993 жыл бұрын
@@lisaaslanis690 My computer has a mind of its own today, when writing you back about my interest in the different lineages. As you know, the Friesians are hybrids of Arabians, Andalusians and Oldenburgs, according to Yvonne and historically used in battles and farming. Now they are bred for trail and cart driving, certainly not jumping and marathon, endurance competitions. My love for them is mostly aesthetic ~~ the floating trot, the flying feathers and the flagging tail. The Paard Verzameld Collective of Women Artists captured all of that for me in its symbolist interpretations of Uniek (Outsider Art). The Friesians also have individual temperaments just like people, including the "alpha-ness" of the mares such as Uniek, Reintje (my heart horse) and Richtsje (Rinke's heart horse). In the western US we have a lot of Mustangs, Arabians and even Appys. My hope was to adopt a couple of senior, retired mares as BFF, but the wildfires have put that on hold a bit. Thanks for keeping in touch. Take care :-D and many blessings!
@lisaaslanis6903 жыл бұрын
Hi, there! Thanks for answering me... I believe the Arabian horse needed to be bred for increasing stamina, since the countries were hot, the terrain sometimes desert and stony, rough going... And I expect they were ridden, a lot! The Friesian, true is not quite so built for show jumping, definitely not for racing, etc. Even dressage is not always their forte.. BUT, as you point out, they are simply beautiful, calm for the most part, and they FLOAT around that arena, across the meadows.... Like a dream!! One cannot help but be very impressed. Viva, The Friesian! 🐎☮️💞
@virtualselfie68993 жыл бұрын
@@lisaaslanis690 @Lisa Aslanis Couldn't agree more. The aesthetics of the baroque Friesian are inestimable. Sometimes I watch the inspections many times to immerse in the floating trot. Even the foals dance. Their antics are amusing as well, i.e., the snorts and yawns and flehmen lip curls. Maybe next year I can attend the Arabian endurance course of 100 miles in Arizona. The owners this year said they are so good long distance due to their bigger hearts and larger lungs than other horses. I heard Yvonne say once that she likes a wider horse and when riding on a slender horse feels not in gait. The Friesians are massive and I love that, too, calling them Hippy Horses. They wiggle and move like no other horse. But I still watch the old film of Secretariat and Run Happy. Jaw dropping racehorses. I know Yvonne did dressage with Uniek and still trains with Reintje. The truth is that Catherine Dujardin's Valegro is second to none. Glad she retired him; he earned it. Now she has Cassidy. :-D
